Youth STEAM Advisors (International) -> Looking for Directors and Advice on Website Development
Hey guys, I plan on making a website for my and my sister's Nonprofit organization, but don't know where to start making one. We have a website that a professional did but didn't like how it turned out, so I'm planning on making one myself since my sister is busy with school. Can you guys help with sources of where I can start making one? The original site is YouthSteamAdvisors.org. Thank you! PS. This is also a STEAM opportunity for you guys to join since we are trying to make this Non-profit international! Thank you! https://www.linkedin.com/company/youth-steam-advisors/posts/

Hi @Chaitra A. ! This seems like a wonderful initiative. I would also love to be part of the process and the board, however, can you give me some information about what it contains (like to be an ambassador or director?) What would we have to do. How would we cooperate and communicate with each other? I would love to help out with some stuff (and I hope I'm not asking these questions and it's already in your and your sister's web page... it's just that it's giving me a bit of trouble to open, my connectivity however, nothing with the website ;)🙏 Thank you Chaitra and Vinaya.

@Vinaya A Yes, thank you guys so much! I filled out the form as well earlier today! (I just forgot to put my country in the correct spacing🤦‍♀️... but I mentioned it in the paragraph under🤗)
Big problem
I live in South America in Perú, and i would like to apply to an Ivy league in the USA but the problem is that the school system is so different. In my country AP classes don't exist, schools don't have a sports team, we don't have clubs or science fair(just one year for ninth grade). I really think my hands are tied right now.🥲

Same here @Anamilé Ascorbe !! I'm from the Caribbean, so it's the same for me. But we can make whatever we've got work... because there are persons from all over the world attending those awesome schools! I think a great focus is on ECs and grades. Participate in your school as much as possible and try your best to attain good grades. Though we may not have all the opportunities, I think if the schools saw that we made the best of what we had, there may be a chance. All the best in all your endeavors 💛🙏

Ohh I didn't know that either! Good luck everyone!!
Is comparing yourself okay?
I know that this question seems very negative, but I can't help but compare myself to everyone. People my age, younger, older, everyone. But is that necessarily a bad thing? The thing is, that I want to do big things. I want to do research that I love, win science fairs, get a 1600/36, and get into HYPSM and pursue my dream career. And the main problem is that I need someone to be real with me. No one can really be as real with me as myself I guess? I start by looking at what others do so that it inspires or motivates me, but this makes me disappointed since I'm not as amazing as everyone else. I wanted to hear your guy's thoughts on this, since I feel really behind, and I really want to pursue my goals. What should I do to be motivated to do all of this?

@Hilary Lakinam Comparing yourself to others is a natural human instinct. It's completely normal, however if your find yourself feeling any sort of envy or feel like.the competition is not as friendly as it should be... then it may become a nut unhealthy for your mental peace of mind. Whenever that occurs, you just have to keep reminding yourself of how worthy of a person you are and be kind to yourself. You are you and they are them. It's really important to run a healthy competition with yourself. How can I be a bit better than I was yesterday? There's this quote I love, "Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and better is best." - St.Jerome Be the best that 💛you💛 can be!! All they best to you always!
Pause For Accountability Posts (End of Aug 22, 2024)
So, I've been keeping myself accountable for a good while now, and I think today will be the final day for it. My school is starting tomorrow, and while I still have time to write these posts and share what I’m doing, it will be a bit unclear from now on. I’ll still be accountable, but now to my teachers instead. But if anyone wants to continue this, please feel free to carry it on! I got my stuff done today. My main focus was on research, and having some calls, and we’ll be setting things up for training this weekend, so I’m excited about that. Hope you have a great day or a good night! And also, thanks to all the members who were accountable!
