Global Youth Conference: Connecting Non-profits and Individuals Worldwide
Hi there! I am Grace Lee, and on behalf of the BC Children & Youth Connection Society, I encourage us to engage in an international youth conference this year to connect individuals, non-profits, and clubs worldwide to create a greater impact and listen to insights from different backgrounds and cultures. What is the International Youth Conference? - We aim to connect non-profits, teens, and clubs in different areas of the world to discuss and work together to manage one major and current global challenge. E.g.: Mental Health, Food Insecurity, Access to Quality Education, etc - During the conference, there are three sections: - 1) Discussion What is life like in your country/region with this issue? What actions are being taken so far? How helpful are these actions? What are the statistics? How is this affecting the daily lives of the citizens in your area? - 2) Brainstorm - Based on our discussion, what can we do as an international team to support? E.g.: initiating fundraisers, campaigns, community service, etc in our community, local area, schools, etc How can we use insights from different backgrounds and cultures to develop more effective solutions? - 3) Collaborate - Draft a plan to bring the initiative to the local area. Branch out each other’s non-profits/campaigns/clubs/fundraisers/workshops etc in different countries and locations Why the International Youth Conference? - Viewing a challenge from multiple perspectives leads to better insight. - Gives teens the opportunity to enhance their communication skills with people from different backgrounds. - International non-profit/club/individual connections: help branch out each other’s non-profits or individual clubs, etc - Due to the number of volunteers at BC Children & Youth Connection Society who are looking for more volunteering opportunities, it would be great if we could bring your non-profit to the conference for them to join. - Show that youth can change the world too. We don’t have to be 18+ to support a cause we care about.
