Dealing with FOMO during Self Improvement
I implemented Self Improvement September last year and am going through the same thing this year. It is funny because now the term "winter arc" is trending. The biggest takeaway for me was the acceptance of fear of missing out (FOMO). I put my head down last Fall/Winter and worked my ass off to get a summer internship, keep my grades high, achieve extreme fitness and read consistently. As a college student, I was constantly seeing my friends going on nights out and spending heavy on alcohol. You simply have to accept that you are putting in the work now, building a lump sum of money, and each day remind yourself of the "other side of male life." I think the reason a lot of men can't handle FOMO is because they think that ages 18-25 are peak male life. But, as Kris has demonstrated, male life can peak well into 30s, 40s hell even 50s if you are playing it right. It is this thought that helps me keep my blinders on when going through SIS.
