The Trap Most Men Fall Into: Waiting for the "Perfect Time"
I hear it all the time—why guys can’t join my program: “I’ve got holidays coming up.” “I’m too busy at work.” “The kids are too young.” “The next 12 weeks are crazy.” Here’s the reality: Life never slows down. There will always be something. If you’re waiting for the perfect, uninterrupted 12 weeks to start, you’ll be waiting forever. Let’s be honest—you’re lucky to get 12 minutes of clear time in a day. So here’s the concept I want you to get comfortable with: Your role as a man is to be a problem solver. The faster you solve the problems in front of you, the more that will appear to take there place. Its relentless. Assuming things will magically get easier or that your time will free up is delusional. What actually needs to happen is that you need to become more organized and increase your energy to handle everything life throws at you. Here’s how we do that in three steps: Step 1: Get Organized Create a to-do list. Whether it's Google Calendar, a piece of paper, or an app, outline what needs to be done daily, weekly, and monthly. Clarity leads to action. Step 2: Fuel Yourself Most of you are running on empty or surviving on caffeine. That’s not sustainable. Is it fair that you give all your energy to work and leave your family or partner with what’s left? No, it’s not. Fuel your body with proper nutrition to keep your energy up. Step 3: Recharge Properly You don’t need 8 hours in bed, but you do need quality sleep. Your sleep recharges your brain, making you a better problem solver. Prioritize this—it's non-negotiable. Get these three things right, and you’ll be amazed at how much you can handle. So, which one of these three do you struggle with the most? Drop it in the comments below.

⏳ Never Enough Time, Right? ⏳
Ever feel like you get through the day and only manage to tick off a quarter of what you wanted to get done? Or like you need an extra day added to the weekend just to catch up? Here’s the simple truth, lads: we’re too easily distracted. It’s the endless scroll on social media, the constant pings of email, that random YouTube video we just had to watch… or even just zoning out because we’re overwhelmed. Time to share lads, Il go first – what’s your biggest distraction? 👇

@Damien Hennigan No I haven't. I was on a call you done about trt some time back, but to be honest what put me off that was the notion that if you start to take it and continue to take it you're on it for life. Something about that just didn't sit right with me🤔

@Damien Hennigan need to get them done👍
Men shouldn't talk 🤔
Alright, lads, I need your input on this one. There’s a lot out there about men’s mental health, saying we need to talk more and that we don’t talk enough in the first place. But honestly? I think that narrative is flawed. A strong man doesn’t want to ask for help—it’s in our nature. I believe we grow by listening to how other men have tackled their own challenges, and then taking action ourselves. Do you agree with this? Drop your thoughts below—let’s hear what the Alpha Community thinks. 💬

Men shouldn't talk 🤔

Afraid I will have to disagree on this one with you Damien. I feel myself that to say men shouldn't talk about there feelings is like saying men shouldn't breath air! We're human first, male female it doesn't matter, we all have feelings and emotions, and to say MEN shouldn't talk, for me is exactly the problem. There's almost a social 'shame' attached to a man struggling and this idea of "toughen up" is driving men further underground and staying quite. Personally it has taken me a LONG time to even beging to start to open up about my struggles with mental health and the LAST thing I needed was a "tough love" approach. It was the very idea that I'm not "man enough" because I'm struggling that kept me quite for so many years. I was afriad of what the world would think of a "pussy" like me who can't just "man up", I say bollox to that! I now thankfully realize it took extreme courage to eventually start to open and when I did it wasn't just with men. I shared my struggles with both men and women. The important thing for me was to take the 'risk' of opening up with someone I felt safe and comfortable 'enough' with to share what was going on for me. I feel this message has a mixed tone, on one hand it's saying men shouldn't talk, and on the other hand it is saying talk to other men. I'm just stuck with the question of how would a man feel comfortable enough to talk to another man if in the back of his head there may be the notion of "Men shouldn't talk"? Obviously these are all just my own personal opinions and I'd love to hear what others have to say on this one!

I’m Peter Farrell. Like Damien I am a Roscommon man but I live I rural Galway. I worked as a sign writer for a big part of my life, but over the last 5 years I have studied and qualified as a Psychotherapist. I absolutely love this new profession however I am very much in the infancy stages and hoping by hoping a group like this I will gain insight as to what ordinary everyday men are looking for outta life, I hope it’ll a great place to learn and share, real feelings from real men in a safe space! I am gone extremely bad at exercising etc. so another reason for joining is to hopefully gain some motivation to get back to being more active. In my spare time, recently I have fallen in love with the hobby of modelling, in particular gunpla modelling (see pic) this has been a great source for giving me some headspace when I feel a bit overwhelmed. Also ye, it ok to still play with “toys” even at age 41🤣 (P.S. Also never tell a gunpla model marker that they are “toys”🤣). Following on from that I have struggled with anxiety myself for most of my life, big reason I went into the field of psychotherapy actually was to try and learn more about my own anxiety. I am still very much on a healing journey with all this, but very open to conversations around mental health. Specifically with other men, I feel very strongly that WE NEED TO TALK MORE about how we feel, as men in this world! Looking forward to what may unfold from this group👍

@Damien Hennigan think it’s only available on Apple TV but it’s only like €4 or so, an extremely powerful piece of film/documentary💯
