Hey, OS community. We are in June and it is time to come forward to chair the presidential team and choose a time where most parents and children can join us. We had such a super time that day! I know @Mega Arumugam who loved it and @Shameem Fathima who is our champion. Both expressed interest and both would be awesome at it. Who would like to take over the book club this month⁉️ This is for our OS course parents and children but I gave a select few the opportunity to join and see what the book club was about last month. I may give some others a chance this time. If you would like to join the book club meeting - which means the OS prime course which includes these book club meetings 5-day challenges (the creative writing one is coming soon!) and our flagship parents' course, just shoot me a message. Hey everyone, I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday. I’m off for a day out in Cambridge dropping off some food to my son and going punting 🚤 We had a wonderful book club meeting yesterday. Kasthuri and her son Vishnu talked about the book The Runaways. We spoke about animals, pets, new words, sentence lengths, some grammar questions. It was a full on discovery. The Runaways by Meg Ryan is a book you may want to read with your child. Search for it in your library. A warm welcome to all our new members in still chilly March! Many of you have joined and I am so happy to be able to serve you. The 11 Plus Journey OS community is the Operating System that I put together for YOU. There's so much information on the 11 Plus. It can get very confusing so I wanted to create a place where there is a little less overwhelm. As new members, you will get access to the 'goal setting module' for free. 🥳🎉 This module deals with our aims, goals, desires, wants and needs. Setting goals is very important. Writing your goals down is even more important. When you do that it makes dreams real. Finish the assignments and worksheets in the module to flesh out your aims. I want you to do this exercise this week, whether your child is in Year 3, 4 or 5. It is a great exercise to do. It will bring up things that you never even thought of. For example, am I clear about why I want my child to get a place in XXXX school? Can I move into the area before the tests which is part of the school's admission rules? Is my postcode in the catchment area of my dream school? There is another freebie for you. The Schools Admission Guide!! 🤩🥳 Parents always ask me about what schools to target. How do I find out catchment rules? How do I find out what subjects the school tests children in? The Schools Admission Guide is an Excel sheet and you can make a copy that has schools listed divided by areas. There are links to the admission web page. The catchment route policy page, the Ofsted reports progress, Progress 8, the the test format, and all the information that you might need to know on a school including the emails and the website. Putting the course together has been a journey in itself. I am so glad that I did because I know it helps parents understand, master and ace the 11 Plus tests. IT CAN HELP YOU TOO!
