3 list health tips 🧹
List health is email marketing 101, but let’s be real—how often are you actually doing it? 🤔 Let’s fix that with three game-changing tips to keep your list squeaky clean and your emails landing in inboxes, not spam folders. 🚀 1. Permission is EVERYTHING. Only email people who’ve explicitly said, “Yes, I want your emails!” Don’t scrape LinkedIn contacts or buy dodgy data. Not only is that a GDPR nightmare, but it’ll tank your deliverability faster than you can say “spam folder.” A spam complaint here, a bounce there—before you know it, your email tool bans you. Stick to consent—it’s sexy and effective. 2. Validate those emails. Forget double opt-in—it kills conversions. Instead, use email verification tools. They catch fake addresses and bots before they pollute your list. Pro tip: if you’re sharing a lead magnet, email the download link rather than showing it on the form submission page. No real email, no freebie. 💡 3. Ruthlessly prune your list. Cold subscribers (those ignoring you for 90+ days)? Delete. Bounced emails? Delete. Unsubscribed? Gone. Keeping disengaged contacts doesn’t just cost you money on platforms like Mailchimp—it tanks your sender reputation. And if your reputation dips, your deliverability follows. Bye-bye inbox visibility. Prune weekly or monthly—make it a habit. ✂️ These small steps protect your list, your wallet, and your reputation. Keep it clean, keep it lean, and watch those open rates soar. Let’s do this! 👊

@Doug Dennison gotcha.
The 4 Cs Flywheel™
The 4 Cs Flywheel is the game-changer for your business. 🚀 Content. Community. Commerce. Customers. That’s it. Four steps that don’t just work—they spin. It’s not some clunky, outdated funnel that drains your time and energy. It’s a flywheel—smooth, automated, and endlessly powerful. Here’s how it rolls: We start with content. That’s your spark, the thing that attracts eyeballs and gets people curious. Then, we move to community—building a loyal tribe who actually cares about what you do. From there, we roll into commerce. Your community supports your business, and your business feeds your community. It’s like a perfect circle of value. And lastly, customers—delivering results so good, they can’t stop talking about you. Guess what that does? Feeds right back into content. Boom. Endless growth cycle. 🔄 Unlike a funnel, which basically says, “Thanks for your money, see ya,” the flywheel keeps the momentum going. It builds relationships. Automates processes. Turns followers into superfans. This isn’t fluff. I’ve used it in my business, my clients’ businesses, and every time—it delivers. More customers. More community. More results. And now, I’m teaching it all in my community. Four lessons, one for each quadrant. Want in? Drop a comment or slide into my DMs. Simple. Effective. Transformative. Let’s spin this flywheel together. 💥 Access the new FREE flywheel course in the classroom NOW: https://www.skool.com/doug/classroom/d61b90be

Gotta say that I appreciate this model far more than a funnel, which is what I hear talked about so often, almost exclusively. It appeals far more to how I am as a person too. Thanks for sharing.

I've been using MailChimp for the longest time. I think I use it still, because it's just what I know. I've been trying to learn ConvertKit/Kit, but honestly find it confusing – despite how simple everyone seems to say it is. I've played with SendGrid a bit but I don't think it has the functionality I'm after. Thanks for the recommendations of the other platforms. Going to have a look to see if there's something more appropriate for my situation, especially as MailChimp isn't the cheapest offering. But, ConvertKit is dearer. Actually, could someone provide a basic breakdown of the functionality that each of the above ESPs provide, plus the average monthly cost? I'd love to get a better idea of the options available and find one that might be a better fit for me.
Flex your copy muscle
The first time I recorded a video, I was sweating buckets. My hands were clammy, and I fumbled my words so much I thought, “Who’s gonna listen to this?” But here’s the thing: the more I did it, the better I got. Not perfect—never going to be—but confident enough to hit record without overthinking it. The magic? Just doing the bloody thing. Over and over. Want to write better copy? Write every day. Want to nail video content? Record 100 videos. Not getting traction on LinkedIn? Post 100 times. – It’s not glamorous. – It’s not quick. – But it works. You don’t need fancy equipment, a pro setup, or some groundbreaking idea. You just need to show up, consistently. Learn the basics. Create the habit. Put in the reps. Stop waiting for perfection. Start chasing progress. 🎯 You’re better than you think you are. Let’s go. 🚀

After creating two podcasts and writing over 150 tutorials (and learning lots along the way), I totally agree.
