Training
Cherry🍒Figure of 8s around 2 cones, change direction whistle, focused heelwork then upped the lure abit she actually done it on her own, no help at all head high with her cheek against my leg so proud of her did 4 reps, didn't want to finish on a negative, I took what I got for today, no way was I pushing my luck 🤣 outs around trees, and some hoopers around trees, some watch and retrieve with some stops all in all good training session. Willow Left, right, go back retrieves, long distance retrieves, watch retrieve stop retrieves, long distance blind retrieves, heelwork and middle walk finished with a walk and scatter feed☺️ Taffy Impulse control, waiting for release to get toy, game of tug and drop, wait and retrieve, good focus around dog, finished with a walk and scatter feed. ☺️ Kike Paws on step, giving paws and turns of the neck and stretch of the neck, sit to down to sit, spin and turn, up which is a stand on bk legs😏kids taught this 1🤣 and new one going around a cone. And always always keep up with boundary training. Doors and gates are not to be crossed no matter what. Unless released to do so.

Day 109: Messing About in the Snow
Well, I was planning to have a quiet day today because I'm supposed to be going to group training tomorrow. However I got the message a bit too late that group training is cancelled. A weird turn of events meant that I ended up taking Lupe to a secure field. I've never actually taken any of my dogs to a secure field so it's my first experience, and just as we pulled up it began to snow. I don't think there is much hope of the snow settling but it was fun to play in it anyway. We did a bit of everything in the field - middles, tug, heeling but nothing too serious. I guess we'll have to have a proper session on our own tomorrow.

Awesome, I think sometimes it nice just to have a chilled training session no stress of other dogs or people ☺️love the snow... Bet lupe loved it? I hope we do get more and that it sticks so I can take girls out in it they absolutely love the snow and catching snow balls🐶

@Nick Benger yh he got a lovely thick coat as well.. I love him if I was to get another dog later on.. I want one like him.. N absolutely fun.. We haven't been to secure field in some time.. Some get really boggy n it's not fun at all barely can run around without nearly going for a dip in the river Avon 🤣🤣
Freddie day 3 - recall/impulse control
Continuing with using different parts of walk for training - started with coming out of drive & dog on long lead out in front so too close & Freddie reacted - switched to management & walked back into drive to increase distance - spent some time slowing him to sniff & calm before setting off. Using treats as cars approach if coming within 5metres. Needing less prompting for waiting at gates whilst I go through first 🥳 Good recall off lead without distractions Huge win today was when he appeared from river bank with the remains of something 😳 previously he would have eaten it & if I tried to stop him either guarded or eaten faster ( history of resource guarding ) to my surprise on the second leave it cue, he dropped it & followed me 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Aiming for leash pressure session this evening

@Lynne Willmott absolutely, i agree with you on this, I think that is a big human flaw.. 😏
Training.
Cherry 🍒 Change direction 2 peeps whistle. Heel position Orbit while walking Focused heelwork with lure higher took her a moment to remember what I wanted but got there, made sure to keep short and sweet and very high energy praise wanted to leave it on a positive so only done 3 reps. Send away training sometimes to get the ball sometimes without and a down instead. Weaves Teaching her to switch sides, out of habit I've called it this side and that side, but I don't think this generally matters, as she gets the concept I use a small hand tap on my side when I do this, although I'm interested to see if she can do it, without it. Middle walk stay and then distant handling with just verbal cues. Watch and retrieves. Great training session really proud of her progress 😍🐶 Willow and taffy Well they were naughty today and ate some things they shouldn't of. So willow will have her physio later and taffy but they are not going back out today. Willow and taffy will now wear a muzzle. Willow is already muzzle trained but I will have to train taffy to wear one. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow otherwise it will be a path walk until it does. Not happy with these 2 cheekys. Kike Was just a casual walk today as done physio today although she did really well with being neutral with a person today and wasn't highly focused like she would of been a few weeks ago. So really happy with her too ☺️🐶

@Nick Benger ahhh yh thats around the time I went in but didn't know that at the time till someone told me, as apparently they wasn't very nice to dogs.. N was told it was there poop. If they ain't using it now, it's probably not as bad now then, ☺️

@Nick Benger yh me too I caught it out the corner of my eye then taffy picked up the scent on it and was sniffing it I was like what actually is that went over and seen the cute little paw, I was like nooooo and honestly was so neatly cut I was like what the heck looked like someone chopped it with something very sharp to have got that cut 🥺 next thing a crow flew down and took it 🤢I just couldn't get out my head someone doing that to a cat😢
Day 2 Recall and lead pressure
Yes Drax knows his commands but does he always obey them? Not if there are other dogs who want to play! We march on regardless...im.upping my game...lots of recall practice on walks and at home if hes been out of sight for 10 mins +...Drax is slowly getting better...each walk we do is more of a game..i bring his favourite ball out..we chase each other and play find me regularly..Drax is becoming more locked onto me so I need to keep this up and be as much fun as other dogs...about time Summer arrived...weather is crap..i could be training him on evenings but its too dark. Not much lead pressure training today so will redouble my efforts tomorrow. Its on me to have Drax as good as he can be.
