Measuring Food
Hello, I am new to the group as of this week and I am exited to be here! I’ve been Carnivore since the spring of 2023 and started off as Keto on November 2022. I am looking to lose rhe last few pounds as I have stalled in my weight loss the last few months. Question: how do you measure frozen foods and meat with bone and skin on? I know it’s recommended to measure raw and if cooked to divide the oz of food by 0.75 but what is the food is frozen or has bone or skin on?

Hi Dana, you can measure foods with the bone-in and skin-on. Typically the food tracking apps includes those weights and will state it in the name of the food when searching it up. Hope this helps!
protein confusion
I understand the BFP Ratio and Action chart to adjust that was shown to us, but the only thing I heard so far about protein was the general rule of 1g per lb of lean body mass. Is this what we use for a guideline?? For me right now, this would be 108g protein, but I typically eat over this amt, often significantly over if I'm consuming seafood. Should I just put on my blinders and be patient and follow this week of recording (which I do anyway), to get baselines, then adjust according to that chart. But I'm still confused about protein amounts.

I would use the 1g per lb of lean body mass as a minimum amount. It is ok to eat more than this. For the first week, just eat to what you normally do to feel full at and track )

@Cynthia Pareja Hi Cynthia, macros are sometimes just one part of it. If you are stalled perhaps looking back to see what types of foods you record this week and see what types of foods you may want to try swapping out moving forward.
2 more questions about meal planning
When meal planning, should EACH MEAL be targeted to the TFP ratio, or with variations per meal, can the end-of-day ratio be the targeted ratio? Also - how does one do OMAD or 2MAD and reach the minimum ratio when you can't eat that much in a meal?

Hi Cynthia, you can average out the TFP ratio for the whole day. Doesn't have to be exact ratio for each meal. If you aren't able to meet the minimum ratio for a day, you can try splitting it out over three meals :) Hope this helps!
