protein confusion
I understand the BFP Ratio and Action chart to adjust that was shown to us, but the only thing I heard so far about protein was the general rule of 1g per lb of lean body mass. Is this what we use for a guideline?? For me right now, this would be 108g protein, but I typically eat over this amt, often significantly over if I'm consuming seafood. Should I just put on my blinders and be patient and follow this week of recording (which I do anyway), to get baselines, then adjust according to that chart. But I'm still confused about protein amounts.

@Kevin L ok. I think I need to make an adjustment here, or I need some help getting through this week. I've been tracking the whole year I've been on carnivore to "see" and be able to reference what I'm doing. And worked with various coaches... and they all say something different! I realize I'm still monitoring my food choices and macros according to an old pattern -- roughly based on a TDEE of 1500, 120g protein and around a 30/70 ratio. But I can also look at this to see my "baseline". I'm having an awkward and hard time 'scrapping' all of that (since I select and record daily anyway) to try to "just eat to satiety" - but also record because I make conscious food selections. From all the past recording, I pretty much can see what my base lines are, but I can't go forward in the course, and this week feels very awkward and counter-productive. How can I make better use of this week?

@Kevin L This still stumps me, as I already don’t snack, have almost entirely eliminated dairy, don’t eat ‘processed’ foods or deli meats, don’t do the ‘butter’ thing. And my macros were already between 60-65. I’m sticking with 60% now, but I feel like this is what I’ve already been doing & it keeps me in maintenance. Since starting carnivore 13 mos ago, I have slooooowly lost 15 lbs - and a pant size. My fat% has gone from 38.5% to 34.9%. My weight has been the same for almost 5 mos. I’m not far from my goal, but it’ll be interesting to finally see what I need to do to get things moving again.
covid
Been feeling wretched past few days and unable to eat and finally tested positive with covid after all these years. Will be laying fallow for a while and just can't stomach anything these days. When well, I'll start charting again.

user interface question- fat: protein ratio selection
Remind me: When we get down to the fat: protein ratio after filling everything in, how do we determine what we should select? Thought I was following it all well, but now confused . . . My last 7 day recorded average was 62% fat. Do I have to select below 60% fat for desired weight loss??

@Alice Cee I've been carnivore a little over a year. I'll select 60%. This will be interesting to tweak, because it's so close to the averages I've already been doing. I don't do processed meats, or alcohol, don't "cheat", record every day, do little to no dairy, and don't snack. I've been doing 3MAD b/c I just can't eat enough when I go down to 2MAD to get my macros in.
