What Separates Metallica From The Other Bands On Their Level Of Success
How about the fact that when Metallica released their debut album in 1983, mainstream rock radio wouldnโ€™t touch them? They released their next album in 1984 and again, radio wouldnโ€™t touch them. They released their third album in 1986 and still radio said no to Metallica. Metallica were making music that was considered that uncommercial. In addition to that, they hadnโ€™t made one video for MTV. Who else has gotten so big with that kind of a start? That third album, Master of Puppets is now certified platinum six times over in the United States of America. Metallica have a whole lot of gold and platinum records to their credit now and really, the other thing that separates them from many artists their size is just how few artists their size there are! If you look to some of the classic bands of the 60s and 70s who are still around, you can find the occasional band that compares in size. The Rolling Stones have had even more commercial success than Metallica, but the Stones are rock royalty and bands of their stature are very few and far between. Only a handful of bands in rock music are as big or bigger than Metallica and not one of them started out as a thrash metal band! It was only with 1988โ€™s โ€ฆAnd Justice For All that they made a video for MTV for One. Of course, the video for One did incredibly well. It was ranked at #1 on MTV not long after it started getting played. One was also their first song that any of the big rock radio stations would play in regular rotation and eve then, there were some markets were rock radio wouldnโ€™t play One. Those rock stations that still wouldnโ€™t play Metallica finally gave in when in 1991, Metallica released what is known as โ€œthe Black album.โ€ Thatโ€™s the album where Metallica took a creative risk, deviating from the style that had made them stars despite the lack of help from radio. The Black album took Metallica from stardom to megastardom. To date, it has sold over thirty million copies. Itโ€™s not thrash metal album but compared to other albums that have sold in excess of 30 million copies, there is nothing close to it in heaviness.

I think it also wouldn't be fair to. Tout. Of Metallica's. Unequivocal success. Without also. Noting that. 95. It was one hell of a sweet spot for. All media, honestly. Never before and never again would they have. The entire world. All tuned. To 1 of 35 channels. At the same time. So it was. Heavily influenced by whatever MTV. Decided they wanted to. Shove it in people's faces. Now, don't get me wrong. The Black Album. Is. The stuff you want shoved in your face. So. Good job there. But it is. A phenomenon that only happened sort of in that. Mid 90s. Where now? We all have our own little source that we. Like to go to to get what we wanna hear. And the next guy has a different one for him, and the next guy a different one for him. So it's just not as easy to. Dominate the. Atmosphere, if you will. Of what and how much of what we're exposed to. And just before the 90s, MTV just really wasn't. Super huge like that. News was news had. That holds on us. Soon as TV and happened but. MTV. Really popped with. Alice In Chains or. Metallica. Nirvana. It just snowballed. And at a certain point. It probably wouldn't have mattered. What was on? The world would have believed it to be great because it's just what was on. Ya know :)

@Russell Spear dime n Vinny Paul explains Panteras success lmao. Okay and Phil. But. As theatrically talented Phil truly is. Even now when I think of Pantera what hits my mind first is the ring or lack there of ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ of each base drum. Or perhaps Vinny just had. Uncanny almost "swung" timing Sort of vibe to how fast n consist he could seem to Keep them. Or maybe some mix engineer majicks look idk how but the double kick always noticed as special and then dimes Frickin sound as if a monster truck engine somehow had a taste to eat distorted electric guitars lol. Like 16 step sequencer never could play more than seven before slapping back to I guess the one count again lol. Very mechanical and industrial scale dye press that chews guitar like bubblegum. And never with its mouth closed ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Dime I cant think of anything like it during its day. That double kick always reminded me of fear factorys kicks. Not saying. That they are actually similar at all. Only saying. Subconsciously. I've always would've pointed to the one if I was gonna try to give reference of the other :) idk. To me these were the defining points to an unmistakable sound in only a second or two. Soon as Tera comes on its just known. Long before Phil could even start. It's no question "who's this again?". Get beat up asking silly shyt like that hahaha.

That means a lot is changing for us, and itโ€™s an exciting time for us all in the Rock Singing Success community. Fall has often been viewed as a season for reevaluating our goals, intentions, ambitions, habits, and the life patterns weโ€™ve fallen into. While everything around us is transitioning, and nostalgia is filling the air, itโ€™s a time of reflection and of choices for whatโ€™s to come. In that respect, itโ€™s an invocation for beginnings, where the old has had its season and the new is being sewn. For the RSS team, we have multiple things in the works, taking us beyond the times where we only focused on 1:1 coaching. This year, we launched this community, a podcast, and started releasing shorts/reels. That was a start, more of a test period. Now that we have real feedback and data to look at, weโ€™re able to evaluate where weโ€™re at and what comes next. We have multiple things in the works. Weโ€™re over half way through the creation of a new high-end group program. But unlike most group programs, this is one you have to be accepted into and where every person in the group gets one-on-one coaching from myself and other coaches on our team. We can hardly wait to share the details with you! Weโ€™re also looking at specific ways to expand our free content as well as certain types of guests in our podcast that weโ€™re sure youโ€™ll be excited about. But it to ensure this is all high-value for you, it takes time, money, and a LOT of work behind the scenes. For now, we see it as a season of change, and weโ€™re planting the seeds for the new. ๐‡๐„๐‹๐ ๐”๐’ ๐‡๐„๐‹๐ ๐˜๐Ž๐”! This guy said some really cool things however how he said them lightweight scared the shit out of me I mean is he he's not a felon or he's or he's in jail now or no or he's going soon? Okay. Lol. Unhinged comes to mind not trying to talk shit not saying that that's a bad thing necessarily but it's just a vibe however his invocation if you will was surprisingly witty for the demeanor out of which it came ๐Ÿ˜‚
What I'd like to be able to do but dunno how
Okay so I sing with people all around the world all the time, so I found this chick. I've isolated her voice and clipped the file so it's only like 30 seconds. but it's an example of the type of distortion I would like to be in control of. cuz what I have at the moment is okay but it's not this, I think I just got like fry going on ig? But this is like some I don't know they make it look so easy like they're not really struggling at all to do it but it sounds fucking brutal God damn anyway here's the example yeah anything or any direction you think you can send me or any helpful material would be fantastic thank you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

What's Holding You Back?
You say you want to learn to sing, but you won't practice. You know you need help, yet you won't ask for it. You ask for advice...and then you reject it. You sign up to participate, but you lurk in the shadows where you think it's safe, where you think nobody will notice your lack of progress. You want to push your boundaries and see what ya got, you want to walk the edge of the precipice, but you're afraid to fall, so you back away slowly, hoping nobody notices your indecision, your fear of failure and your unwillingness to fully commit. You want to drink from ecstasy's cup, yet you won't imbibe. You say you want to become great, but in attaining greatness, there's a certain price that must be paid. One must be willing to give up...a bit of one's self. Helping others become better makes you better. You like the idea of becoming great at something that demands you expose your innermost vulnerabilities, but you cower at the thought of actually exposing the very insecurities that make you need this so badly. Or do you? Do you just kind of want this...or do you need it with every fiber of your being? At some point, a choice must be made. You're either willing to give it all ya got or you're not. There's a reason why the top 1% is only comprised of one percent. It takes the overcomer. It takes the individual who refuses to be deterred. It takes the individual who's willing to pay the price and risk coming up short again and again, because the potential reward is so great. Nothing worth having in life comes easy and free. Hell, if it did, we'd all be smiling.

Well there is the. 80/20 rule of thumb. 80 percent of the profits for 20 percent of the work. That's when one has know how rather than the long way to the same Ends. Least. I've heard. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

I could see like in sports or competition based areas of expression sure I'm sure that with every fiber of your being mentality is probably shared among the top 1%, however I don't think it's the numbers are so aligned with art it's not really a competition at all you can make it one and some people do but that doesn't mean to be in the top 1% that you have to have any of that mentality out I think it was Art I think a lot of one percenters wish they weren't and it blows our mind to think that they could have that position and be so Whimsical about its value and how would you just give that up why would you even say that but they can't wait for it to be over they just can't help but do what they do I feel like that happens a lot in art and rarely and competition type areas motivating speech though I think yeah it's on the pushy side but. I suppose some people need to be that kind of roused

Hello my name is Joseph, I've been singing since I can remember but I've never taken well I still don't take myself seriously only recently have I been interested in adding different flavors to my normal comfort zone and that's mainly why I'm here I also like to camaraderie that seems to be present so that was attractive I like to think I'm friendly and try to be helpful I've written original material for 20 some years now. But nothing that I've ever tried to wage and all out campaign for but I just do it cuz it makes me feel good that's why I've always ever done it none of that stuff though includes any sort of grit really... at least yet. Some of my most respected vocalists I'd say Dax Riggs he's just a lot Danzig fucking love Danzig, Kud aka Chad Gray from Mudvayne he's fucking top tier lol. That's male speaking however I do have a tendency to really over indulge in female vocal Talent so like Sandra nasic of German band known as Guano Apes. Well I should have said her first honestly, because she's just probably my favorite of any anyone she just comes with it. she brings it. Ha ha I don't really have an agenda. I just have fun singing and I guess would like to learn more about different ways that I can play around with that well yep that's me Thx. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ - Maxx. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ Well it won't let me scroll the cursor up to edit Grammer n such (without backspacing to it). as I spoke all that :( but I would have lol. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿพ

Um. Not sure the technical terms, prolly close to Jimmy Urine? ๐Ÿ˜ Of MSI. Tho I also find Scott Stapp to be prolly where many would say I should stay. Or like say the Savage Garden guy I think his name is John Daniels which how crazy is it that Savage Garden is from Australia as well as Silverchair and the silverchairs singer's name is Daniel Johns and they're both like the #1 and #2 Top selling musical acts from Australia ever ig and you just switch their names around and they're the same ๐Ÿค”. To be fair though I'd assume probably half of Australia has either Daniel or John's in some part of their name at least I'm guessing I have no idea but for that to be happening with the singers it's either really coincidental or you know it's Australia's Mohammed. Oh and you can call me I guess Maxx typically no one in my real life would call me Maxx, but no one on the web would call me Joseph so. it's just an alter ego really to escape the confines of the one known as Joseph lol. He's A stick in the mud that one ๐Ÿ˜‚. Umm. Maxx I guess would be most fitting as unleashing successful Rock talent(tm) lol is often all about getting in n out of the who we think we are normally. But yeah I will speak up if I have anything in particular to ask but I'm pretty content with what I seem to get from the talks that I've seen so I'll check that I can out before asking something thats probably already covered. Thx
