Pricing Methods
Curious what people are using for their pricing methods. I recently shifted to a more structured pricing plan from the guesses and comp matching that I was using before. I use the Research tool to look up the item. I see the 90 day ASP for the item. I then divide it by .75. This then gives me the approximate listing price. Here is an example. ASP of $19.25 / .75 =$25.67 I would list the item at $26.00 I then run a sale event for the item at 20% off. This makes the actual price $20.80. This leaves a 5% margin left to send a small offer to a liker. How do you calculate your listing price? Is my method too much work? Yes, I have to have the entire store on some sort of sale even all of the time. Is this too much?

@Wes Benham Yeah. As I'm beginning to use the Research tab to check ASP (I currently do it your way, Wes), I'm seeing that the price I'm landing on is within a dollar or two of what's showing the research panel, but using the research panel is much easier. So thanks for the tip, @Jerry Wilson

@Jerry Wilson That's crazy! Recently, my sales have gone down. I hate to have to do the extra finagling with the sale, but may be a worthy strategy.
DIY Flat Lay
Evening All! Wanted to share a pic of my newly created Flat Lay setup for clothing. Glad to have one made and not have to hang clothes from hangers for photos. Attempted to be VERY frugal, lol! What do you all think? This is the video I followed for this flat lay station. I just took it a step further sanded & stained mine. I also added slip resistant pads to the bottom of the legs. https://youtu.be/CkcAG_H3Ag0?si=-4K1a0sar84T8lZT

@Wes Benham Same here. I can't seem to get even lighting that's bright enough. I would love to be able to use my photos straight from the camera with no adjustments in post.

@Wes Benham I always do a quick adjustment because typically front/back photos are a little dark and I want to make sure the colors are accurate to avoid returns.

Can Gore-Tex be used in title/description? I thought I heard they were taking listings down for using it. I have a pair of Tourney pants that aren’t selling and I’m wondering if that is why, I don’t have it in the title. Many have sold with it in the title though.

Thanks for the tip. I had a few that needed revising.
Black Friday
How are preparing your store for Black Friday or Thanksgiving weekend? This is the official beginning of holiday shopping. We need to play the game that our retail brothers and sisters play. For me we have created 7 different groups of items and brands that I want to get rid of. Older and slow moving items that need to go are in groups that are now scheduled to go on sale at 50% off Thanksgiving and go through “Green Monday”, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving. I did increase the price of a few items so 50% would not kill all the profits. Is your store ready for Black Friday and Green Monday? What are doing to get ready?

Honestly, I'd not thought much about it. My sales have been abysmal for about a week in spite of my traffic being the same. Not sure what's going on, hoping it's just the normal ebb and flow of eBay and not that the machine has docked me in the algorithm. I'm listing the same types of products with the same frequency (5/day). Could probably run a sale or coupon to try to get rid of some stale inventory though. Thanks for the reminder, brother.

@Jerry Wilson Would love to hear more about your process in doing this
Listing Schedule
How do you handle your listings? Do you list at the same time each day? Do you just work it around your schedule as you find time? I usually list pretty much the same time each day, but I am looking to change things up some. With the shorter daylight hours this time of year, daylight is a premium for me. I have a farm I run in addition to eBay, and the things needing completed on the farm pretty much need to be completed during day light. I have always struggled with listing in the evenings, because I am usually up by 4am getting some of my eBay task completed, and waiting on daylight. I am thinking about trying the separate way of listing that so many others do, and take my photos either in the evening, and complete my listings the next day, or photo in the mornings, and complete listings in the evening. How about yourself? Do you try different ways of list? Different times of listing? Has making changes like this helped you to stay more consistent?

@Red West Can you elaborate on why?

@Red West Well, no, not really. Honest question. Does it matter whether I ship at 8am and then list drafts at 8:30am vs. listing drafts at 8am and shipping at 8:15am? Is there data to show that listing earlier in the day affects visibility/sales? If so, I'd gladly update my routine.
