@Ian Fenwick Break down the goal into daily actionable steps - Do the daily actions and it should be reasonable that the goal will be achieved - Obviously pulse and pivot when necessary.

@Ian Fenwick I use a DMAIC framework (its from Six-Sigma) Define Measure Analyze Improve Control, the "pulse" is the Control piece checks results and metrics make sure things are within the control "limits" - If outside the limits make corrections.
Wait! It's Not Retirement
It's “Personal Enterprise” Keep working for the Man or start “You Inc.” Your own personal enterprise, the new way to approach making a living. It isn’t about a job, but how to think like an entrepreneur. Will you be comfortable to work when you need to? When you want to? Where you want to? Experts like Hemant Taneja, in his book Unscaled predicts: ~ just-in-time gigs ~contract work ~projects and ~side hustles Are the way to create You Inc. Taneja expects the burden of Human Resources paperwork will help make You Inc. very attractive to the corporate bean counters. Don’t try to fit your skills into a resume you send out everywhere. Focus on what problems you have solved in your own job. You aren’t the only one that has to deal with it. Focus on how to show up in front of someone in need of your solution or work around. Here comes a big change. New skills will be needed. First learn where your ideal prospect hangs out. Second learn their jargon. Third figure out the answer to, if only I could fix “X” Fourth Zoom in on that ideal client. Only that ideal client. Wait! I hear you. You’re just starting out and you will work for anyone that will pay you. Realize you sound like every other gig seeker on the net. Do you want that? You want your ideal client pulled to you like a Magnetic pulls iron fillings. After years with a steady job, you might feel lost. But it’s a chance to shake up the old routine. Create a setup that pays the bills. Gives you time for things like exercise, meditation, and a hobby or two. To run your life as a personal enterprise... Add another “gig” to keep things rolling. No boss required.

@Michael Bridges I think entrepreneurship requires some specific skills, that when you are working for a company you don't develop, especially true for large corporations versus small business. A skill from my career that others can benefit from is Self-Discipline this skill is near and dear to me - You do develop it when you have a lot of autonomy in corporate environments but as an entrepreneur it is the lifeblood of steady revenue.

@Sindi McGuire Understanding my Why or the Why has been very powerful for me, I have noticed team members work much harder and in a more focused way when they clearly understand the "Why".
What do I like in the NW corner of the USA?
It's very hard to choose a fav. My wife Barbara and I love to look out over Oakland Bay every morning because it is always different. Tide is in or out. Cloudy or clear. Sunrise colors reflected in the bay. Mt. Rainer visible or fogged in. Deer eating flowers in the garden. Scram! We also love to drive and look at all the coastline views. Gather shellfish, berries, and mushrooms. Bridgette our corgi and I love to hike around the hills here because the views are so awesome. That's the nature parts. We live in the southern area of Puget Sound near Olympia the state capital. There are dozens of quaint seaside villages we have found by exploring side roads. Of course, the big cities have lots to offer.
