✅Athlete Review
Improving Athletic Habits should be #1 on your list. Changing an athlete at the habit level, unlocks a new tier of potential. It's hard because it's not flashy, takes lots of reps, and isn't in line with current training methods. But, if you understand it and can implement it, WATCH OUT! It's like having a magic wand that creates elite athletes. The best movement patterns aren't complicated, difficult or hidden. They are available and ready for Coaches to start teaching. If you haven't gone though the Athletic Habits Course yet, hopefully watching this video will convince you.

Absolutely! Building strong habits is the foundation for lasting success in any sport. When athletes make the right habits automatic, their performance level rises dramatically—and it’s true, it’s not flashy or quick, but the payoff is immense. This kind of consistent, foundational work can transform their skills and give them an edge that others may overlook. Implementing effective movement patterns and mindset shifts can be like unlocking a hidden superpower for athletes. I’m definitely interested in learning more!🤜🏽
Lack of Motivation / Determination
How can I effectively engage athletes who seem to lack intrinsic motivation and are only showing up because their parents told them to? As a coach, how can I help them connect with a deeper purpose and remind them why they’re here? I’ve tried using external motivators, like rewards, but I want to find more meaningful ways to inspire them.

What level of sport/age are you dealing with? Some say motivation/Drive is you thing (athlete) not me thing (coach). One thing I’ve done in the past. Is I used a big mason jar for the athlete to fill everytime they accomplished a victory. I used little mini hockey pucks (2inches) and painted them gold. The jar would be visible for the athlete to see when he/she we’re present. Watching the jar fill up improved the athletes behavior. The victories could be non-related to the session or sport.
Track Block Starts
Figured I'd post this here in case we have any track Coaches in the building. Also for any sport a lot of these same movement fundamentals carry over. This is block starts so pretty specific but there are some universals when it comes to how and where to apply force. ✅ Let's get it

One idea, I have used to solve this issue. I would put small hurdle over the heal 1-2inches. The contact with hurdle provides great feedback to keep foot low.
