DAY SIX | Mirror, Mirror 🪞
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's ready to call the call? Take the leap and say it now, What sweet truth can you recall? Share something that you love about yourself. Don't play small or be modest. This is not a time to feed the ego but an opportunity to appreciate a part of yourself that you truly admire...

Hello everyone - am a bit late to this one so I did the exercise on waking this morning. And perhaps it didn’t work in the way Ayla had planned but it certainly did something. I really struggled with the reflective part BUT (important part coming up) reflected back was me as a young child (shifting between toddler and at most 4 or 5 years). A lonely, lost and uncertain little boy trapped in the mirror and looking at me to help him. At the sankalpa return my jaw felt ‘set’ - a determination to do my best for this small boy who had his chances in life smothered. So am not sure I can answer the principal question (which is more or less saying to the inner critic ‘go on then, what have you got to say about THIS?’… as if he needed an excuse!) but for today my most important quality has to be determination. Happy Wednesday everybody

And to follow that, today’s Tricycle quote is … The moment when you are truly present, and you touch something so deeply, the truth of it shakes. Sister Dang Nghiem, “Healing Within”
DAY FIVE | Balance ☯️
'Living a balanced life' has changed for me over time. I used to put immense pressure on myself to maintain unattainable daily goals. Now, I recognize and honour the seasons of life and live in the integrity of where I am. What has supported me the most is remaining open and receptive to my Sankapla (my North Star) and disciplined in my practice (my anchor). As we complete today's practice, consider your current season and what 'living a balanced life' means to you. Share below and encourage others on their journey, too. Day Five | HERE

Hello everyone. Here we are the day after and I have to report more synchronous uncanniness - Tuesday is turning point counsellor day - you will not guess what he raised as something to focus on as recovery proceeds - BALANCE I almost fell off my chair (which would have been terribly off topic) The point of the discussion was that balance doesn’t happen by itself and rebalancing is often needed - so thinking, investigating, testing and of course good yoga nidra … Happy Tuesday!
Sankalpa and inner critic
Hello - I wonder if anyone else is struggling (or perhaps has done so previously and has helpful experience) of the sankalpa triggering a violent inner critic response? Even something as ‘simple’ as ‘I am’ … well, if you have a powerful inner critic everything is a target. I hope most of you haven’t because it is horrible. Am finding it getting worse (though maybe you have to raiser the beast to fight it) and often spend the first third of the session recovering. The sankalpa reprise is often calmer Perhaps this simply where I am just now. Thank you for reading this

@Cat Jones and @Tracy Hofmann - another of today’s many coincidences - I started to look at IFS stuff at the weekend (‘No Bad Parts’) - previously it didn’t spark anything but what with everything else it now makes perfect sense - so much sense that I am kicking myself for not recognising it sooner - but better late than never

@Pauline Logue sheesh - he lies around daydreaming all day and gets canonised … I do it and HR wants to talk to me … that is class-based privilege for you 🧐

What a lovely practice today. Thank you. It is wonderful that such a place is available here and now, just by stepping aside from the world of the everyday for a moment.

1. No people 2. My dog (though this is highly contingent on the activities of local delivery people!) 3. Music (Beethoven or Schubert piano sonatas) When these are working I can usually get to a place where I can engage with yoga nidra or a guided, therapeutic meditation effectively rather than wanting to tear my brain out and throw it at the wall

@Ayla Nova of course! Serious matters need some humour - and your session today has really helped calm some demons. This is my first attempt at joining a group and I was very nervous - thank you to you, Cat and everyone here
