Happy Holidays!
Dear Marketing4Notaries Family, As the holiday season wraps us in its warmth, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for each and every one of you. This year has been one of change and growth, and your decision to join me on this new journey means more to me than words can express. Building this community together has been a reminder of the power of connection, support, and shared goals. Your trust and enthusiasm inspire me every day to continue creating resources, opportunities, and strategies to help you build the business you’ve always dreamed of. I am off for the balance of the year, so you won't be hearing from me too much until January. This is my family time and I cherish it!! The holidays are a time for reflection, and as I look back on this year, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the friendships, successes, and milestones we’ve shared. I truly believe that 2025 will be a year of incredible growth and opportunity for us all, and I’m so excited to continue this journey with you. Wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season filled with joy, love, and rest. May the new year bring you success, happiness, and everything you’ve worked so hard for. Thank you for being part of this community and for allowing me to be part of your story. With love and heartfelt gratitude, Jen

Monday Motivation
Good morning! I took today's motivation from Alex Hormozi with Acquisition.com. He's a motivational marketer extraordinaire, entrepreneur and philanthropist. "A young samurai once asked a Zen master how long it would take to achieve mastery. "10 years," the master said. The samurai, eager to speed things up, asked "What if I work twice as hard and practice day and night?" The master replied: "20 years." When the confused samurai asked why it would take longer, the master explained: "If you have one eye fixed on your destination, you only have one eye left to find your way." In other words, as Warren Buffet so eloquently stated, "you can't have a baby in a month by getting 9 girls pregnant!" Why does that work, though??? With speed, you skip the fundamentals. You don’t build systems. You chase shortcuts. But success isn’t built on rushing. It’s built on consistent action, strong foundations, and the patience to embrace the process. Mastery isn’t about getting there first; it’s about getting there right. This week and next, slow down, focus on the next right step, and trust that the journey will take you exactly where you’re meant to be. You’ve got this! 💪

My Wednesday Adventure as a Lazy Notary
Thought I would take a page from @Carol Ringwald . I shared this on HPN but wanted to share it here as well. Monday and Tuesday were glorious. Slow, lazy, and completely uneventful—the kind of days that make me feel like a professional sloth. I stayed in my “homeless chic” uniform: baggy sweats that had seen better days, an oversized hoodie that could double as a sleeping bag, and hair that hadn’t experienced shampoo in at least 72 hours. The beanie stayed firmly planted on my head as I shuffled between the couch and the fridge, sipping lukewarm tea and marveling at my own level of unbothered. But then Wednesday came roaring in, bringing with it a fully booked schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The alarm blared at 6:00 a.m., and I stared at the ceiling in existential dread. Why can’t people sign important documents in their pajamas? I groaned, already mourning the loss of my couch and hoodie. Dragging myself to the shower, my inner eight-year-old was throwing a tantrum so dramatic it deserved an Oscar. “Why do I have to shower? And wear REAL CLOTHES? And—seriously—MAKEUP?!” she screamed. Adult me sighed and reminded her that professionalism is part of the gig, but even I felt the sting of betrayal as I swapped my cozy sweats for, you know, actual pants. By the time I left the house, I was clean, dressed, and begrudgingly wearing eyeliner. My notary bag was slung over my shoulder, but my heart was still at home in my slippers. At least these flats feel slipper-adjacent, I told myself as I started the car. My first stop was Harold, an older gentleman who greeted me at the door with a grin so wide it made me forget my morning drama—for about five seconds. “Did I mention I used to wrangle alligators?” he said, as if that’s something people casually drop in conversation. He didn’t wait for me to respond before launching into tales of crocodile wrestling in the Everglades while I stamped his documents and tried not to laugh too loudly. Who knew notary work came with free National Geographic episodes?

From Wanting to Having: Embracing the Abundance Within
I was meditating this morning using the TRIPP app via Meta Oculus VR and the meditation I chose was centered on switching our mindset wanting to having. We all have moments when we want something—a new opportunity, a fresh start, or a dream realized. Wanting is natural; it inspires us to set goals and reach for more. But sometimes, wanting can feel like a gap between where we are and where we wish to be. What if we flipped the script? Instead of focusing on what we don’t have, we can step into the mindset of having—of already being aligned with the abundance, success, and joy we seek. ✨ I am abundant. I recognize the blessings already present in my life, and I trust that more is on its way. ✨ I am success. Success isn’t just a future destination; it’s the energy I carry with me in every step I take. ✨ I am joy. Joy is not something I wait for—it’s something I create in this moment. When we embody these affirmations, we shift our focus from lack to fulfillment. Suddenly, what we thought we needed to want transforms into gratitude for what we already have. The truth is, the feeling of “having” begins within us. It’s about recognizing our inner abundance and knowing that life is always working in our favor. When we live as though we already have what we desire, we become magnetic to even greater opportunities and blessings. So today, pause for a moment and reflect: What if everything you’ve been wanting is already here, waiting for you to claim it? Believe in the abundance around you, the success within you, and the joy you bring to the world. You have everything you need to thrive. 💖

Love this perspective, @Carol Ringwald ! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Inner Critic
As it is slowing down during the holiday my inner voice of doom rears its ugly head. “You wont have a successful month and January will be just as bad” my stomach was in knots last night thinking about all I could have done this year and how much more I need to learn and grow to become “successful”. There is this overwhelming feeling of not knowing what to focus on next because there are so many paths and areas to grow. The notary profession oftentimes feels like a hydra with many heads and it’s difficult to know what to focus on. This morning I am a bit more clear headed and wanted to reach out to you all to share this vulnerability I think we all have. Fear of failure and our inner saboteur feeling overwhelmed by information. I know I can’t be the only one. How do you not feel overwhelmed by the stress of building a business learning new skills and keeping your financial head above water? How do you keep your inner critic at bay? I try and look at my notary career as a marathon not a dash. And to give myself grace.

If this isn't the most honest depiction of what December is like for an entrepreneur, I don't know what is! You are not along @Nikola Nichols in your feelings. In fact, it's not even specific to the notary profession. It's the entrepreneur's burden. One of the tricks I employ when my inner critic is taking up too much headspace, is NAMING HER. Mine is Tina (& she's a major bitch)! When Tina starts up, I call her out. Literally!! I tell myself, "Tina...quit making me feel bad/guilty/overwhelmed (fill in emotion here)." I've found that naming that critic helps me interrupt the negative thought patterns that rise up when things aren't going the way I planned. I tend to talk to her a lot at this time of year when finding balance between work and family becomes difficult for me. With continued practice over the years, I've found that interrupting the naturally occurring negative thoughts have decreased their power and given me back more control over how I manage my day. Who else has named that bitch that lives in their head??
