6 red flags that are signs you need to work on your pelvic floor and core function
Red flag #1
You have an overactive bladder: Constantly feeling the need to rush to the bathroom, even if you've just gone, could indicate an overactive bladder. OR, you have a strong urge and feel like you are not going to make it in time
Red Flag #2
You have chronic hip, back, or pelvic pain: When your pelvic floor muscles are tense/tight for long periods of time, they can starting pissing off their “neighbors” such as your back, hips, pelvis & more leading to unresolved chronic pain
Red Flag #3
You’re dealing with digestive issues: When your PF + deep core muscles are living in chronic tension, they can interfere with the proper functioning of the digestive system, leading to discomfort, constipation, bloating, or difficulty passing stools
Red Flag #4
You experience uncontrolled leakage: especially during activities like laughing, coughing, sneezing, or lifting heavy objects. uncontrolled leakage can be caused by muscles that are either too tight/tense OR muscle that lack coordination, speed, and endurance
Red Flag #5
You have pain with intimacy/penetration: in order for penetration to occur we need the pelvic floor to release, open, and lengthen. a tight pelvic floor has a difficult time doing this so it leads to a tighter space and thus irritation at the perineum and deeper parts of the pelvic floor
Red Flag #6
You have “unexplained” UTI like symptoms: chronic uti like symptoms but the cultures are always “negative”?? chronic UTI like symptoms but the cultures are always “negative”??
