Day 9

Today is a difficult one.

• This morning was super productive 💪—despite only sleeping for maybe an hour during the night 💤. I just couldn’t ‘switch off’ 🧠, so I started working around 6am and eventually stopped at 2pm to walk my dog 🐕 and have a nap 🛌.

• After a few hours of sleep, I was woken up by my mum talking very loudly on the phone 📞, and that’s when I overheard the worst possible news 💔… my uncle had passed away. 😔

Evening 🌙:

• I watched the Chelsea game ⚽ (we won 4-2 🎉) and then completed my daily Spanish lesson 📚—I’ve now hit 800 days! 🎉

Despite having a productive start and hitting a great milestone with my Spanish, everything was overshadowed by the devastating news about my uncle. He was placed on palliative care last week, and his health deteriorated very quickly after that. I had been planning to visit him this week, but I missed my chance, and now, despite the pain being so raw, I just feel numb. 😔

I’m going to try to stay productive each day, but I know it’s going to be a real struggle. Keeping busy is how I cope, but this is going to be a really tough time for me and my family.
