So last weekend I had a ton of things to do. This included driving my wife and daughter to the airport early Saturday morning. Friday night at around midnight I hear a crash sound and my daughter bolts into our bedroom pretty scared. Thinking someone broke one of our windows, or was trying to break in, I go check it out. Turns out it was nothing major thankfully. The adhesive picture hangers my wife used to hang a small shelf gave way and it came crashing down.
After the adrenaline dump from it I was up for a couple hours, then got up and took them to the airport a couple hours later. On the way back home I was tired and thinking of going back to bed. But, remembering that I can be productive and “make up” the sleep later that night within the 24 hour cycle I pushed on and got my work done. Framing it like that really helped me. Still modifying the cycle and my TRIM framework, but it is getting better and more refined. The “old me” would have probably gone back to sleep and not been as productive as I was. The 24 hour cycle framework continues to be a game changer for me.
