Are you an involved parent?
Many of you wanted to know what the comprehension challenge is about. Here you go. It is spread over 5 days starting on the 18th March.
We will be having sessions on making inferences through visualization techniques, and we will be going on a text treasure hunt. We will also do some bite-size exercises on story sequencing and summarizing.
There's more. Celebrated author Sheena S L Ager will be taking a session on Wednesday. We may wrap up with a special session to make classic texts a little cool!
But let me tell you this at the outset. You don't have to sign up your child for this challenge. Don't let FOMO get the better of you.
Yes, challenges have a way of stimulating one into taking an interest you didn't have before and taking steps to get better at a specific problem. At least that has been my experience.
But many resources can help. Don't let anyone stop you from getting them.
My OS course members get this challenge for free and all challenges past and present. So if you are curious about what the OS course for parents is about, send me a message.
This course is for those interested, invested AND INVOLVED parents who want to be their children's champion. Who want to bond with their children through the love of academics.
I vet parents, ask them questions, and see if the course will benefit them before I let them get it because parents must be involved and invested throughout. I know parents who got the course and vanished afterwards. I don't want those kinds of parents in my course.
This is an investment in your child's future. And let's face it. We value the things we invest our time, money, and effort in.
Otherwise, you don't even turn a give a second look at the freebie you downloaded even though it could be the most value-stuffed resource there is.
If you are a serious parent who wants to help their child and not have regrets of any kind later- because you were not well-informed- just message me the word 'INVOLVED'. I will send you some questions and the framework I used to prepare my children who went on to secure a place at the country's top boys' school.
I will also send the reviews we have received on the course and a tiny discount code you could use because you are a parent who is INVOLVED And as I said to a year 3 parent yesterday- I love doers!
Once in, your child can attend the comprehension challenge if that's still what you want.
