Know Before You Go

You don't go grocery shopping when you are hungry and sure don't go without a shopping list. If you do, you over buy and come home with stuff no one wants to eat. Think of reselling in that light.

You create a shopping list before you go shopping. You look at your pantry (your eBay store) for what you need. Where are the holes you need to fill? Polos? Jeans? Button tops? Whatever it is that you need.

Then you think about what your family (customers) eat. What do they like? You should KNOW what cereal brands they like. You should KNOW what peanut butter they crave. What do they want? What are they craving for? (Items with high STR).

Here are some new initials for you to learn. KYC. Know Your Customer. What brands do your customers crave. What brands are they going to buy?

From this information you are ready to go shopping. For us as resellers we need to do these excercises and do the work BEFORE walking into the store. My sweet wife and I have a team meeting before we get to the store and have a plan before we walk in. "Ok, you go through the pants looking for X, Y, Z brands and I will hit the button up LS shirts and then the polos.". This works to our favor as we KNOW what we want in the sizes we need. We blow through the racks and get done much faster. We only stop to do research when we find a brand we do not know.

As I write this it is Sunday afternoon. And yes, we had a great day at church, thanks for asking. 😀. I am sitting in my recliner, with my laptop sitting on my lap desk watching some of my favorite YTers. I listen for brands that they are selling. I stop the video and I enter the new brand into my spreadsheet and do a little research. "Rinse and repeat". Over and over this continues for a wonderful afternoon.

What are you doing to improve your shopping list? May I suggest you think about doing research on what brands and items your customers are craving for and create your shopping list.
