Hey, I am Amanda from Boston. I am brand new to this reseller thing, Im a stay at home mom, Antonio is 7yr and Antonelly is 7m. I did my first WhatNot show mostly hidden behind the camera because i am extremely shy and made $77. I was looking for a side job, was trying makeup artist and nails tech but wasnt feeling it because i was trying to finish a client and my daugther was crying and i wanted to give her attention but had to finish it was frustrating. then came an AD about whatnot and it got me excited because i saw it as the perfect opportunity to continue being a full time stay at home mom and have a job i can do with my baby around giving her attention whenever she needs, take her sourcing with me at the stores NOT THE BINS. today was my first time at the good will bins, it was crazy full of running people but she stayed with my grandma so was glad i didnt take her, I got a few things that searching online retails for over 100-200 and some lower but am now watching the video here and learning about the sell thru rate (my goal is a 50% str and about $20-50 profit per item even if it limits the inventory just dont want to hold on to items that will take years to sell) but am new so need to take some time to learn first. watching some videos on the bolo brands i realized i have a few brands that is worth money and a brand new dress priced at 600 that i was trying to sell for 5 on whatnot, GLAD IT DIDNT SELL. one last thing i downloaded the app on my husbands phone to get that $15 bonus but he ended up using it to buy hotwheels to try and resell, he sold 4 on the first show but his last 2 didnt sell anything. so hopefully this can turn into a family business.
- Why did you decide to join our group? need help with this journey and its great to have a community of other resellers to talk about
- What valuable experiences or skills do you bring to the table? none yet
- Is there anything holding you back that we can assist with? i want to start being active on social medias and youtube to document this process, I am trying to decide if i should do in Portugues or English. pro for portuguese: i dont see a lot of brazilians talking about it so could be a great market for me to reach con: most brazilians dont like used stuff and for english pro is these marketplaces including whatnot is full of english speakers and con: cant think of any, maybe theres a lot of resellers
- for whatnot do you try to sell the items for the price listed on ebay/poshmark for the pricier items? i noticed a lot is 1-2-3-5 dollar start
