Should I switch to max conversions or go back to Manual?

Hey Guys been running this campaign for a little over a month now, its a lead gen campaign for a home remodeler.

We've gotten about 9 conversions so far ( pretty qualified leads). Campaign started on Manual CPC, then I switched over to max clicks to see if i can get more Traffic and hopefully more conversions. But its having the opposite effect, I'm getting more clicks, but conversions have been very few compared to when i was on Manual, Google is giving me a limited by bid strategy warning and saying i have enough conversion data to switch to max conversions.

I know not to trust Google's recommendations but I was wondering what you guys thoughts were. Any advice I can get will really help thanks!!
