Being a dad is one of the most meaningful roles I’ve ever had, but sometimes, it’s also the most heartbreaking. I’ve always tried to show up, to be present, and to do everything I can to let my daughters know how much I love them. And yet, there’s this distance I can’t seem to bridge—a space that feels so much bigger than I want it to be.
I don’t have all the answers, and maybe I never will, but being their dad means I’ll keep showing up. I’ll keep trying. I’ll keep loving them, even from a distance, because that’s what being a parent is about—loving unconditionally, no matter how hard it gets.
If you’ve ever felt this way as a parent, you’re not alone. I think we’re all just doing the best we can, hoping that one day, they’ll see it.
