What's your name? (or your Nickname - what do you most like to be called?)
Rebecca
Were are you located?
Southwestern Pennsylvania, USA
One of your strengths? (It's okay to brag in this space!)
Unrelenting desire to grow and become the best possible version of myself (used to think that was arrogant or selfish. Not any more.)
One of your weaknesses that you'd prefer to change?
My seeming inability to discern when a tension in my life is about something I have the power and need to change about me or something being imposed on me by someone else
What's a favorite Book or Song that you particularly like?
Too many to count! but as far as lifetime favorite book it's the Bible. It doesn't matter how many times I read from it, I still glean something new that I never noticed before
What do you do (if you care to tell us)?
I run an asphalting company with my husband of 28 years. I raise children. 5 now married. 4 still at home youngest is now 15! Work hard everyday to function well in the face of what I now know is PTSD. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. (Worked in Healthcare for 15 years. Left in 2010 to raise then 6 children in my home)
What's your goal inside this community?
Support others and receive support as I get back into the swing of practicing PC.
Where could you use the most support?
Growing in boldness and discernment related to my above mentioned weakness
And if you had it all your own way, what's one dream that isn't yet realized in your life that you'd really like to have happen?
To be healthy enough and financially stable enough to practically mentor as a vocation women who want to grow and become. I have lots of practice already as I have raised 7 daughters. I actually thought it funny that I had so many daughters because I never felt like I related well with other women. And now I know it was practice for this desire that is now in me to continue mentoring once they are all "on their own". I hate that term, because no one thrives "on their own". But I think you know what I mean.
