My wife carries a lot of the mental load in our household. She is now a stay-at-home mom so she started watching our son 5 days a week which requires her to take him to his speech and PT appointments, music classes and generally plan activities for him before and after nap time. I work a busy job and go into my office 4x a week so my wife plans all of our meals, grocery shops, goes to Target to buy my son clothes and food he likes. My wife also typically plans weekend activities and is always encouraging us to get out of the house with our son and do something fun. I occasionally have to work late in office or have social engagements after work so she is also responsible for getting our son to bed without my help. Most nights we do bath and bedtime together which is a great time to spend with each other and our son. I acknowledge that my wife carries a huge mental load on top of having to deal with all the things that goes with being a recent breast cancer survivor
