What if my ads stops performing

Hi quys! I currently have a Ad that is doing good compared to the others, the thing is that I run a CBO campaign witch means the budget get spent by meta on a campaign level, the winning ad gets al the spend. The second ad that performing OK also takes up most of the budget.

What should i do to safely extract the winning ad and try optimise the second one?

Or Should I just follow the winning ad and create different variations of it?
