Creative Writing Courses - Do FB Ads Work?

I want to run Facebook Ads for my father. He sells creative writing courses. Demographic is primarily people in their 60s and above, mostly women.

He does other forms of marketing, like affiliating with course recommendation institutions.

We ran Google Ads last year. We put a bit over a grand in and generated a crap ton of leads but due to a low target CPC they were not good. In the end we got one sale which alone generated nearly a grand back. Now I know that this is just how Google is, but I’ve heard FB requires a lower budget so I think there’s promise.

Anyone in a similar niche have any insights on this?
