I’ve realized that if I haven’t stopped to think about how my dog’s day is going, or spent any time looking in his eyes, I’m doing too much and moving too fast.
Sad isn’t it? When I first got my dogs they got so much of my attention, but now between kids and work, sometimes I can find myself treating them kind of like furniture. Just part of the house. That’s how I know I need to slow down.
This morning after I activated and drank some water, I sat with my dog on his bed and spent time connecting with him. Might seem weird to some people, but it’s kind of like therapy for me tbh.
