Do we really need glue compression for the mixdown or for mastering? I'm finding that directing my mixing approach based on a program of pre-conceived customary practices can get me stuck in the mud ( or weeds more like it) real fast causing needless delays in finishing projects. The proof is in the pudding as they say. We hear about trends here & there like today's mixes are saturated. So, we conclude that I just must include the Schoepp's parallel saturation trick to finish my mix. Maybe or maybe not. What customary mixing practices have you decided to toss in the trash can because it really got you nowhere in making your mix sound better, and as a result you finished a satisfying mix project in a timely manner.
