Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. This reminds me of Matthew 16:24-26 where Jesus tells us to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Him. Jesus loves those who humble themselves and seek Him because the only way to the Father is through Him.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. This right here tells us how we should live. Every day we should want to become more like Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life.

As I read this I come to find out I feel a lot like David here. Our feelings are very real and prove that we are made in the image of God because we feel those feelings. God feels too. We can’t rely on our feelings as truth though and we for sure shouldn’t sit with them. We must present our feelings to God. If we sit in our feelings we can feel depressed or not worthy. God doesn’t want that for us, God wants us to come to Him in prayer so He can give us His peace. Ask God to enlighten your eyes and rejoice in the Lords salvation. He never left you and never will, He’s always with you. Remember Gods mercy at all times!
