Group Update - Consystent Creatives
I've been brainstorming what I want this community about, and I realize I want it to be a community for game developers. Not just any game developers, though. This will be a community for post-graduate game developers who didn't land a job right out of college but want to get back to making games. Many teenagers enroll for a four-year degree; they graduate, but they don't get accepted for a job in the industry they studied for. I myself am two years out of university, but I didn't get a job in games right after graduation. I began to ask questions like, "Was the degree worth it?" or "How will I get the experience I need to make better games?" Even after graduating I continued to struggle with common problems when trying to make a new game on my own, like over-scoping, crunching, and trying to make a 'dream game'. Projects were started, but they were never finished. It wasn't until I entered my first game jam that I discovered a workflow to stay consistent with creating new games from start-to-finish. Since then I've released two games, both made within a month each: Star Sweepers and Chihuahua Champ I'd like for this to be a space where others can get back to doing what they love: creating games. To embody this philosophy of staying consistent as a developer, I've decided to name this community 'Consystent Creatives' Welcome.
