Google Search Techniques
  1. Search a specific file type: Use filetype:pdf to find PDF files. Example: filetype:pdf marketing calendar.
  2. Search Content of a Single Website: Use site: to restrict results to a specific site. Example: site:developer.mozilla.org Javascript.
  3. Use of "before": Use the before: operator to find results before a specified date. Example: top NBA rebound leader before:2020.
  4. Use of "after": Use the after: operator to exclude outdated results. Example: best scifi films after:2021.
  5. Exact Search: Use quotes to find an exact phrase. Example: "what is python".
  6. Use "AND": Combine two topics in your search with the AND operator. Example: Elon Musk AND OpenAI.
  7. Use "OR": Find results related to any of your search terms with the OR operator. Example: javascript OR python free course.
  8. Use - (minus) Operator: Use the minus (-) operator to filter out results with specific words. Example: Chiefs -taylor swift.
  9. Use () Asterisk: The asterisk () acts as a wildcard in your search. Example: "how to start * in 6 months".
  10. Search a Range ".." (Two periods): Use two periods for ranges, like prices or dates. Example: Studio Headphones USD 100..200.
  11. Use of "Define": Use define: to get definitions and more info. Example: define:serendipity.
  12. Use Google as Calculator/Converter: Google can calculate and convert. Example: 5 * 12 or 10 USD to EUR.
  13. Use of "~": Use the tilde (~) before a word to include synonyms. Example: ~learning programming.
