Vulnerability alert馃毃
I had never felt the feeling of anxiety until five or six years ago. I did not understand it until I actually experienced sleepless nights that turned into months that turned into years.
Here are some things that I learned and help me relieve some of the anxiety and made it ultimately something I could actually manage.
Going for a walk:
Walking increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain, which can trigger the release of endorphins, serotonin, and other neurochemicals that can improve mood and reduce anxiety. Endorphins are natural brain chemicals that can make you feel good and improve your sense of well-being.
Grounding:
Find five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste.
Focus:
Focus what I can control and not what I cannot. anxiety is a fear of unpredictable future events, such as bad things happening or not being able to accomplish something. It can feel like a warning and can cause people to feel nervous, concerned, fearful, or watchful for danger.
So anxiety is when we worry about something in the future. And usually that never happens.
Here鈥檚 a great stoic quote that helped me understand it.
鈥淎 coward dies a thousand times, a hero dies but once" means that a person who lacks courage suffers the feared effects of death many times, while the valiant person doesn't think about death until it arrives.
