The roadmap for new coaches
To break the coaching game down into 7 steps: 1. Know your niche 2. Create a heck yes! offer 3. Get your first beta clients 4. Get results for your beta clients 5. Ask for testimonials and referrals 6. Create a badass paid offer 7. Offer it to 10 people, get first $1 You need to know exactly who you want to help. Is it moms? Business owners? Fitness lovers? Be specific. You should know both their biggest problems and dreams. What keeps them up at night? Make sure you know them so well, it’s crazy like you’re almost reading their mind. Make an offer that’s so good, they can’t say no. It should solve a problem they really want solved. No fluff, and no extra stuff added they don’t need. They should feel, “Heck yes! This is what I need!” when they hear about it. Keep it simple and use the yes/no rule. Did they get results yes or no? Your beta clients might be people you already know. Friends, family, or their friends. Ask them to work with you for FREE. This way, you can practice to become a better coach. You’ll build trust and start to get more comfortable and confident as a coach. Give them the best valueble tips and help you can. Make an impact, help them in the right direction. Show them what’s possible when they work with you. If they see real results, they’ll want to tell others about you. After you’ve helped them, ask for feedback. Get testimonials you can use later for marketing your coaching business. Also, ask if who they know that could benefit from your coaching. And when you have some experience, it’s time to get paid. Create a simple offer. You can start small, like asking for just $1. Or you can let them choose how much to pay based on what they think your help was worth. (That's what we call a Pay-What-You-Get-Offer, we used that when we first started out.) Ask 10 people to pay you $1 for your coaching. Someone will say Yes. Once someone pays you, congratulations, you're now a paid coach! That's about it, far from the final of the coaching path but enough to get you started. Let me know if there's anything you want to add to it, elsewhere let's get after it!
