Music Pubblishing and Sync

Hello everyone! I have some doubts about how Sync works, I have a new single to release next month and I was looking to release with my distributor TuneCore that I used before. I noticed they have a Publishing Service (69$) and Sync. Now, I'm not a big Artist but I would like to know if someone else here ever tried to work with them or better, how a Sync placement works in real world.
