Vision Quest
Today I embark on an initiation that has been kept alive in indigenous culture for centuries. What an honour it is to be invited to take part if this Vision Quest. 4 days and 4 nights, no water, no food. Just a medicine wheel, an altar, a tarp, and a sleeping. I share this with you all because I believe it’s important than men willingly put themselves through deep challenges as a form of initiation. I believe one of the main issues in our modern day of masculinity is that young men lacking such opportunities to be initiated into manhood. Furthermore, I am stepping into this so willingly because walking the walk is a deep part of my values. I want to guide young men into their divine manhood and masculinity, and I cannot do this without embodied wisdom. If you’d like to support me, you can pray for me this weekend, eat food for me, and drink water for me. The picture posted is of my prayer ties. Each time I did a pray with tobacco and wrapped the colour cloth with the tobacco to hold the prayer. This we hold the container of my medicine wheel and that will be the space that I remain for the 4 days. There are 108 ties. All my relations 🙏🏼 Lion

Reading this reminds me of intermediate fasting. I do believe your goals with these are possible to achieve.

Reflection on Masculine Self-Love
I came across this long-form post exploring the importance of masculine forms of self-love and thought it was too good not to share. (2021) Post from Jordan Thornton - Inner Work - YouTube "There is nothing wrong with the feminine-leaning focus on self-compassion and self-acceptance, but this is mother love and men generally draw their emotional confidence in living life according to timeless yet tender masculine principles which transcend and include the sentiment of self-acceptance within a greater aspirational framework for value-based, conditional love and celebration." If you're unfamiliar with Jordan Thornton and his work, his channel is very much worth a visit.

Thanks for sharing.
Masculinity
I'll ask this question of the brotherhood: Did any of you grow up with pressure to exhibit a certain type of masculinity through external activities, such as sports, hunting, etc.? Or were you taught there is only one type of masculinity, perhaps shown through aggression, misogyny, etc.? My father was a serial adulterer but wasn't exactly the most masculine man around. There was never any pressure on me from him to act a certain way. For me, trying to learn what masculinity was, what being a true male was, I was gathering clues from classmates and society as a whole. This wasn't always successful, but I feel I navigated the many types of masculine expression fairly well until coming into my own as an adult male.

Looking back, I feel there were major pressures on me by both my heteronormative society and the media to exhibit certain stereotypical masculine traits in order to “fit in.” I aggressively tried many times to inhibit them, but found I was too inhibited by my own feminine energies and qualities to be successful in “passing” as a “typical” boy. I was definitely not popular and was bullied to the point of feeling completely worthless. I never thought of myself as GBT or non-binary in those days, but everyone seemed to and this was a time and place where that was not seen as a positive thing. I was even called “cheerleader” for years and that was not a compliment. It was something to be suppressed and avoided (yes, much has changed since then). I couldn’t fit in if I tried and was abused as terrorized as a result. Some even used my name as an pejorative insult in my town for years. I felt that exhibiting misogynistic and homophonic qualities was the only way to be accepted. This lead to a lot of troubles and years of self-loathing suicidal thoughts. Obviously, this was a different time and I have grown a lot since then, but the pain of unacceptance still lingers on.
Redirection and back to Center
The big news: I am no longer apart of HPA. I have resigned from my position as President of the company so that I can refine my focus. What are my focuses: - Sexual Embodiment - Human Design - Group offerings for men - Land management (retreats and experiences) The first one is obvious, I am going to focus more on Sacred Self-Pleasuring practice I have created for men. My vision is to have Sacred Self Pleasure as a certified training that is recognized as a pathway to attaining a higher level of connection with one's own body and sexual energy, and thus in more integrity and balance with these energies. Human Design: I am deeply passionate about this system, as it has brought me so much insight and clarity in my own life. I use Human Design with all of my clients, and that data continues to prove its utility. I am currently developing medium ticket ($300-500) coaching process that will help you live into your design and gain the benefits of more life fulfillment and better understanding how your energy works for life, work, and relationships. Group offerings for men: Online classes, group coaching containers, and more challenges (similar to the current 22 day semen retention challenge). Men need brotherhood to grow and to be held accountable. More than anything, I want to leave this world knowing I helped men become better versions of themselves, and that I helped men come together in more loving ways so they can be of better service, and so that this work moves down to the next generations. Land Management: Some of you may know that I spent a good amount of time int Mexico (Bacalar) and Peru (Sacred Valley) this past winter. In person experiences are very important to me, as I feel they are where massive transformations really occur. The Mexico Village is a project that I am working on that will be for men to come for a month stay to upgrade their lives in a holistic fashion: physical, mentally, emotionally, and energetically. The Mexico Village is set up with a full gym, amazing local foods, and access to the healing and famous Bacalar Lagoon. The project in Peru is focused more on plant medicine and the connection to that powerful land. I will be running Sacred Rhythms Breathwork, Embodiment, and Plant medicine retreat again in March of 2025. This is an experience for both men and women.
