Pointing of GBP
@Caleb Ulku, I have a client who is an IT consulting company that wants to rank nationally but also has a local presence in Greater Philadelphia. Let's just say their digital assets were a mess, but the GBP was pointed at the home page - but I want to note they were not even controlling their profile - long story but all is good now. After optimizing the profile itself, it now ranks well for the main category. Here is my question .... Given their ideal customer profiles are middle-market businesses and they do not currently rely on the GBP, should we be pointing that GBP at the contact page? Thanks in advance.

@Brad Prader Yes, pointing the GBP to the contact page can be beneficial if the client primarily targets middle-market businesses and does not rely on the GBP for local traffic. This ensures that potential clients can easily find contact information, which can improve engagement and conversions.
Process for lead gen sites (without GMB)
If I only have a website without a GMB, so a typical lead gen site, would the site structure follow the same process as for local just without mirroring the categories and services of the GMB? Would you do anything different to rank the site?

@Stefan Girndt For a lead gen site without GMB, focus on keyword research, on-page SEO, and quality content. Build high-quality backlinks and ensure a good user experience. You donโ€™t need to optimize for local search elements like GMB.
