Don't Trade Yesterday's Experience
This took me a long time to learn, but it's a must. This is a reminder to myself! Perhaps it will be helpful to you as well. Every day, if I haven't wiped my mind slate clean, I am NOT present, and I'll be focused on the past. This will cause me to attempt to get back to an emotional equilibrium. But the fact is I'm in a state of imbalance because I'm unable to shake the loss from yesterday. As a result, I'm not judging the trade on its own merit, but on the merit of a past trade. I'm NOT seeing the chart as it is... I'm seeing it as I am. Trading is a mind game, a game of nerves. If I carry a loss over to the next day it will affect my decision making process and stop me from making $$$ for my family.

Oh, such truth, Jeff! It took me a few times (at least) to see this. I am much better at catching it when it begins. I take a moment to breathe and recenter, and see how I am doing. Take a break, have a walk, listen to some music. If yesterday (or just the last trade) continues to stubbornly pester me, my mind must need more time. Step away, and return to trading tomorrow.

Remember, ThinkOrSwim is closing down tonight, May 10, @ 8:30 pm EDT until Saturday evening for "maintenance". Guessing it's for the integration of TD Ameritrade. So relax and enjoy the needed break from screen time!

I do not think it is closed for everyone, maybe just for the next chunk of accounts being migrated. My account is in this group, though, and I am very glad they have done many before mine! 😺 Edit: Hm, not much info easily found, other than a tweet from Schwab and the message I have about my account migration. Guessing it will be down for all until tomorrow sometime, but until 5 PM Sunday for accounts being migrated. I am just sitting with no open positions while it happens. 🧘

Expired worthless, credit spread, nothing I need to do?
Just want to confirm … if I have a credit spread and it expired worthless, there is nothing I need to do in TOS platform?

Haha, indeed, and you will see some options trade after the bell, until 15 minutes past. This is documented, but it can be a surprise when you first see the prices continue to update when the market just "closed." One other thing -- you may also decide to close the position early to free the capital for other trades, say, if most of the spread's value is gone.
