Welcome Everyone! Hey everyone! šŸ‘‹ I'm Terrie, a plus-size certified personal trainer at the WrestleFit Training Center, and Iā€™m so excited to be part of your fitness journey. Whether you're just starting out or looking to take things to the next level, Iā€™m here to support you every step of the way! šŸ’Ŗ Starting a new workout routine can feel overwhelming, so here are 3 key points to help you kick off your journey the right way: 1. Take Measurements, Not Just Weight Your body is going to change in amazing ways! Sometimes, the scale doesnā€™t show the full picture, so grab a tape measure and track your progress through measurements. Youā€™ll notice changes in your body shape and muscle definition long before you see big changes on the scale. 2. Hide the Scale Speaking of scalesā€”donā€™t obsess over it! Focus on how you feel, how your clothes fit, and the improvements in your strength and endurance. The scale doesnā€™t define your progress; your daily wins do! 3. Prioritize Sleep Rest is just as important as working out. Aim for quality sleep every night because thatā€™s when your body recovers and rebuilds. Youā€™ll feel more energized, focused, and ready to crush your workouts! Iā€™m here to help you navigate this journey, so feel free to reach out anytime. Let's make some big things happen together! šŸ™Œ
Boost Your Everyday Strength with Functional Fitness: Improve, Prevent Injuries, and Stay Strong!
Letā€™s talk about functional fitness ā€“ this trend is all about getting stronger for everyday life, not just for the gym. Imagine doing workouts that help you lift your backpack, run up the stairs, or wrestle with your friends without getting hurt. Functional fitness focuses on movements like squats, lunges, and deadlifts that you already use in daily life. This training improves your strength, balance, and flexibility, which means youā€™ll be less likely to get injured. Whether youā€™re on the mat or just running to class, these exercises make your body strong in ways that really matter. So next time you hit the gym, think about how what you do there can help you outside of it too! What everyday moves do you want to get stronger at? Letā€™s get to work, Warriors! šŸ’Ŗ

For me, it's all about mobility and flexibility, especially after having spine and knee surgery. I had to literally learn how to walk and climb stairs all over again, which has been a huge challengeā€”but also a rewarding journey. Rebuilding my balance and quad strength has taken time, patience, and a lot of focus. But the progress Iā€™m making feels amazing! Every small victory, whether it's taking the stairs with more confidence or feeling more stable on my feet, reminds me how far Iā€™ve come. šŸ’Ŗ Itā€™s still a work in progress, but Iā€™m getting stronger and more mobile every day, and that feels like a win! Anyone else working on mobility and flexibility? Letā€™s keep pushing forward together! šŸ‹ļøā€ā™€ļø

šŸ‹ļøā€ā™‚ļø Whatā€™s the Latest Diet or Exercise Plan You Tried?
Hey Warriors! Iā€™m really curious about what youā€™ve all been exploring lately when it comes to diets and exercise plans... šŸŽšŸ’Ŗ What have you been investing your time and effort into to boost your health and fitness? I've tried quite a few in my time and nothing has given me the results like WrestleFit has. It is pretty solid, but there were definitely some learning and growing that I needed to do. So now, I want to hear from you: - Whatā€™s the name of the last diet or exercise plan you tried? - Was there anything missing from it that you wish it had covered more? Drop your thoughts below! If I see some common themes and know enough about the topic, Iā€™ll create some new training to fill in those gaps. And guess what? Anyone who shares their input will get access to this new training for free! šŸŽšŸ™Œ Letā€™s keep pushing forward on our fitness journey together! šŸ’„šŸ”„

Letā€™s be realā€”strict diets just arenā€™t for me. Iā€™ve tried them, and every time, I end up feeling restricted and eventually going off track. Iā€™m all about sustainability and balance. Instead of being 100% strict, Iā€™ve found that aiming for ā€œgood, better, bestā€ choices gives me the flexibility to stay on course long-term without feeling deprived. Here's how it works: Good: Making Smarter, Easy Choices This level is about taking small steps to improve what you're already doing. These are manageable changes that donā€™t feel overwhelming and are easy to stick with. - Meal Idea: Instead of a fast-food burger and fries, opt for a grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad or fruit. - Snack Idea: Trade that bag of chips for a handful of nuts or some veggies and hummus. - Beverage Idea: Swap sugary sodas for flavored water or tea without added sweeteners. - Better: Adding More Nutrition Once youā€™ve made those ā€œgoodā€ choices a habit, you can take it a step further by focusing on adding more whole foods, nutrients, and variety. - Meal Idea: Choose lean protein (like grilled chicken or fish), add a complex carb (quinoa, sweet potato), and load up on veggies. - Snack Idea: Try Greek yogurt with fresh berries or a protein-packed smoothie instead of sugary snacks. - Beverage Idea: Stick with water or add in some green tea for extra antioxidants. Best: Maximize Your Nutrition This is the level where you're making the best possible choices for your body. Itā€™s not about perfection, but about maximizing nutrition when it makes sense for you. - Meal Idea: A balanced plate of lean protein, a variety of colorful veggies, healthy fats like avocado or nuts, and complex carbs like brown rice or quinoa. - Snack Idea: A homemade energy ball made with oats, peanut butter, and a bit of dark chocolateā€”full of nutrients and satisfying. - Beverage Idea: Water, water, and more water! Aim to keep it your primary drink throughout the day. Why I Love This Approach: Instead of feeling like Iā€™m "failing" if I donā€™t stick to a strict diet, I focus on progressā€”not perfection. Some days, a ā€œgoodā€ choice is enough, and thatā€™s okay! Other days, I might make a ā€œbetterā€ or ā€œbestā€ decision when Iā€™m feeling more motivated.
