Started building sites again
One is my ski blog snowbistro where I talk about great ski resorts such as Jasna in Slovakia. I'm using Topical Map and Cuppa, it's fun.

Looks great @Richard Patey - are you writing the content yourself? I just started a new travel-related Substack that I'm building out from hand right now as I enjoy getting in the weeds a bit lol
Empire Flippers L12M sales vs 2022 (over 50% reduction)
I've not looked at the state of the industry reports since I was at Flippa, and was surprised to see just how much sales have reduced over the last couple of years. (Props to EF for always being so transparent). In the 2023 report, total sales were $86M Over the last 12 months on the EF scoreboard, total sales are $42M. Is this a change in the overall industry? EF is of course fine, but are the majority of smaller M&A marketplaces now struggling to get enough new deals to close?

@Dillon Newman Oooh why?
Groups, Communities, Newsletters, Podcasts - What's the Value chain?
Reddit Group vs. FB Group? Newsletter list vs. Podcast? What's most valuable to you from an acquisitions perspective? For example - is a Reddit group of equal value to a FB Group? Beehiv same as Substack? Does having a Podcast + YT channel add to the value? Trying to prioritize channels to invest in when building out new media brands and want to work backwards from what provides most value in the marketplace. Looking for all you smart buyers' thoughts on what you value and appreciate when buying new web assets.... thank you!

@Travis Street Interesting - I haven't come across the AI click bait garbage in FB yet but I'm sure I'll start noticing it now haha

@Aaron Chua interesting take, thanks for mentioning this. You're so right that 'starting a newsletter' is the easiest thing to do these days. Actually building a community on Reddit or FB is a much heavier lift and therefore if you can develop that asset, it will be more in demand. Though I guess by that metric an actual newsletter list would also be valuable, but those are harder to build in the earlier days as you don't have the natural 'traction' you can get from Reddit or similar where their algorithms and recommendation engines can help power your audience building. Great food for thought...thank you!
Wordpress or static generator ?
Hey there, I want to try to build a website from scratch - for experiment SEO more deeply and also to try to flip it in future if everything goes well. I'm a coder, I can build it at a glance with Gohugo (a static website generator), but I'm wondering if it's the best choice regarding my goals. Any hint ?
