Why should we care about money?
I want to preface this topic with one very important thing. Money is a tool and should we should not have love for a tool. In other words, don't love money for the sake of loving money. This without control can turn people into something they never wanted to be to begin with. Loving money leads to immoral behavior, greed, and theft. We should never strive to love money, but I do think we should care about it. The reason I say we should care about it is for a couple of different reasons. One of the reasons that we should care, is that without it in our day and age it's very hard to do anything. (not impossible, just much harder) In a way money really does make our lives easier. Think about this, if you didn't have money to go to the grocery store what would you have to do? Fish? Grow your own vegetables? Raise your own animals? and each one of those things comes with it's own challenges. How are you going to make a fishing pole? How are you going to make the string? Hook? Bate? So on and so forth. Now like I said, this isn't an impossible task you could do it (really most farmers do it everyday). But it's a much harder path than just taking $20 going to the store, and purchasing some tuna or salmon. Another reason to care is that money can buy you time. One of the most important and finite resources we have. Now you're probably asking yourself, "Money can't buy me more life, what does he mean?" and with that you're right. We certainly can't take money to the grave, and most definitely can't buy ourselves any years. But we can buy our own time that we have now. Let's look at it this way... Let's say you have a job, and more often than not you're living paycheck to paycheck. Don't have any savings, just barely making it by each week. Now let's say that job shuts down, you're fired. How much time do you have, to find another job, before your bills start to stack up on you? I've been in this position a few times, and I'd say most people probably have a week... 2? Maybe three before they have to start borrowing. (especially if you factor someone with lots of responsibilities like a spouse, children, pets.)

Why would some 27 year old kid be qualified to talk about finances?
Now don't get me wrong, I am still novice when it comes to finances. That's part of the reason I created this group. I firmly believe that crowdsourcing knowledge can be extremely powerful. If we all come together to share our questions, understandings, or things we've learned recently, than we have a huge opportunity to share with others. This can help us to grow, stay motivated, and potentially change our lives. The knowledge and understand I have from money has all been self taught except for a couple of major things. At 25 years old I had been granted an opportunity to use my natural ability to communicate with people, and learn about how debt can be managed. Since then I've stayed in the same industry. This industry is the debt relief industry. Now some of you might say "oh god I've heard of those programs and I think they're a scam." And to that I would say, you're right. IF you're with the WRONG company. Unfortunately I've seen lots of small companies that will take advantage of desperate people. That being said, not all of them are a scam and I've seen and helped lots of people graduate, and save LOTS of money by going through those programs. So my best advise is if you want to look into that type of payment plan, do some research and make sure the company you're going to work with is credible and has a proven track record of success. Back to the main topic, my experience in this industry has been the back bone of why money became such an interesting thing to me. Why is it so hard to manage? Why do people get emotional over it? Why is it difficult to find any solid good advise on how to manage it or make more of it? All these types of questions I've asked myself and gone looking for the answers for. That being said with all those questions I've still been able to help hundreds of clients get relief from millions of dollars worth of debt. In a short period of time I've become really good at what I do and I want to share some of what I know and understand with people and hopefully learn from them as well.

Why would some 27 year old kid be qualified to talk about finances?
Welcome to the group!
Hello, my name is Sebastian. I've created this group for a couple of different reasons, the main reason being that I want to learn more about money and how to manage it correctly. Finances aren't something taught in school so it's something we have to take into our own hands and learn about. That's why I am creating this group, I want to offer the knowledge and understanding I have of money, as well as learn from others their perspectives and give the same opportunities to share and grow. Another reason I created this group is because I want to help people get out of debt. Debt is an anchor that will very quickly sink you to the bottom of the financial ocean and drown you quickly if you don't understand it or know how to utilize it properly. I've struggled with debt for most of my adult life, I didn't understand it. Didn't realize how expensive it is to be in debt. And definitely didn't know the impact it can have on your quality of life if you're deep in it. To give you a little background on me, I've worked in financial industries for about two and a half years now. Mainly in debt settlement as a debt specialist. I've helped thousands of people to get out of and settle millions of dollars worth of debt. This is something I love to do. Now I want to make it clear, I'm not here to sell anyone one on debt settlement unless I truly believe it is the best course of action for them. At that point I'm happy to provide resources, but right now my main goal is to grow a community of people who are kind, patient, and want to help each other understand their money. What is it? How does it work? What's the best way to utilize it? How can I make more of it? What resources are there to make managing it easier? These and so many more questions! I want this to be a group that sources information and give advice and motivation to others. That being said now it's your turn! Introduce yourself and tell us a bit more about your background! What has your experience with money been like? Do you like it? Do you hate it? I'm super stoked to see people coming together to make each others lives easier and share knowledge and wisdom.

@Kenneth Bruce Ahaha I totally understand! Sometimes it can feel that way, my goal here is to help people like yourself not feel that way so much. 😁 Thanks for sharing!

Over the next couple days I'll be working on some classroom stuff to give some very valuable keys to understanding your money! Keep an eye out for it!
