For those of you who don't know me....
For those of you who donāt know meā¦ This was me 4 years ago. Union Laborer, in decent shape, making pretty good money, at a good company, around good dudes. I honestly didnāt hate my job. Pension, great healthcare benefits, generally didnāt have to commute TOO farā¦ But deep down I knew that I was meant to do more. I knew that if I didnāt somehow use my hard-earned experiences and life lessons to positively impact other peopleās lives, I was on pace to die with the regret of never trying. And that was just something I wasnāt willing to live with. So one day, after thinking about it for months, I finally mustered up the courage to put in my two weeks notice. I had a little money saved, and a general idea of what I wanted to do, since I had just completed my Masterās degree for Life Coaching and Counseling while working at my job. But I had NO IDEA how to run a business or get clients, or make content, or build a websiteā¦the list goes on. I hadnāt used a real computer in YEARS. I had gotten my Masterās using a Google Chromebook, Word Doc and about 2 school websites. I used to do my research papers on a coffee table and my couch because my tiny studio apartment didnāt have room for a desk. Iād be lying if I said I didnāt fall for the sunshine and rainbows of entrepreneurship. Boy, was I mistaken! Itās been the most difficult thing Iāve ever done, probably outside of getting clean and sober, and everyday new problems arise and thereās no one to turn to to solve them. Itās all on you! But whatās better than that?! Having no one else to blame for your problems, no excuses, no victimhood mentality. Either make it happen, fix it, or donāt and just quit. And trust me that thought is constantly floating in your head, especially when you first start and youāre working nonstop but youāre not making any money. So why am I sharing this? Two reasons. 1. I want people to know that being an entrepreneur/business owner is the furthest thing from easy. If your goal is to get rich quick, donāt even bother. If your goal is to look for a way around hard work and long hours with no guarantee of success, this shit aināt for you.
