I realized that confidence is very contextual and a person is confident in only certain situations. I remember over a year ago, I became super confident and talkative when I was playing football in gym class. I felt like I could talk to anyone and say anything and not care about anything. I felt so free and energized. I realized that by doing things you love and are good at, you automatically become a more confident person while doing them. I think the reason for this is that we feel confident in our abilities so we want to show other people that. But when I was standing next to the kid that I played football with in the lunch room, I was too scared to even start a conversation. I kept overthinking and not knowing what to say. But by improving social skills itself, you become more confident in EVERY situation. That’s because everywhere you go you will always have your voice. So maybe it’s time to start honing in on your weaknesses and start leveling up your communication.
