I truly believe location location is one factor in being a success when open a school or gym. here is an example and a true one , I have been open in Bendigo area for 9 months and only averaged 6 members, last week I opened up a new location actually where I first started teaching in Victoria Inglewood . Last night was the 2nd night for that location and I got 12 possible members who either tried the class or just came to see what it was all about . out of those 12 , 8 are definitely coming back. so it really does show that location and plenty of help from friends does make a difference. I actually received approx 15 emails for interested people and 4 replied that they will be definately turning up at Ingle wood next Monday.

Hi Danielle , Sorry about the late reply , I keep constant contact with members and or parents. new letters of any events coming up. for example we have been invited to participate in next years Easter parade and so I add that , with the children's classes I give out sew on patch awards that they can place on their uniforms, with children's classes I make it fun for them . not all seriousness. come the last 4-5 weeks before a grading I start to push the members and it all pays off. and I think that is what makes it interesting for them to come back . you do get to know who is interested in learning and who just want to attend , because Mum or dad make them and thats not fair on the young ones. I have found continuous advertising helps a lot too.
