@Elaine Lee Hi Elaine. Definitely would love to chat. If you give me an email address I'll shoot you a Calendly link so we can set up a Zoom call. I'm in Melbourne Australia so time zones can sometimes be an issue. Where are you based?

@Ben Attanasio Thanks Ben. Really appreciate your perspective. Just 'testing the water' at the moment. How is Skool treating you ๐Ÿ˜€
What's one thing you learned about growing a community you wish you knew when you started?
I literally created my community 12 hours ago. (sound the noob alarm) What's one piece of advice you would go back and give yourself?

90 Days on [Skool] ๐Ÿšซ5 things I did wrong so you don't have to๐Ÿšซ
Just got my 90 day "Skool Chip" [This should be a thing lol] and part of the wizard crew now! it's been a whirlwind experience. I love community centric platforms and I've said it before Skool is unlike anything I've ever been a part of! ๐ŸšซBut I did do a couple things wrong๐Ÿšซ 1. Jumping the gun on my community URLs. I changed them to quick before I really got a feel for the why behind them. IMO keep the option open for a bit. 2. Came out the gate with a Free community in which I already had a Paid community via Kajabi. I think it kind of devalued my offer. It's all good now though as I pivoted to a "rebrand" and still have Kajabi stand alone course. 3. Not having a correct onboarding process at the beginning. It was more of less a crap shoot of if the community members knew what to do. Although it's laid out to a T in my community I needed to realize sometimes members need to be guided directly one by one. 4. Failing miserably on my "1st community challenge". Although I did it everyday there wasn't much engagement. I see know how to tweak it. But you pick back up and move forward. 5. Not pricing my community at $997 which mirrors my Kajabi course. I think I should have kept everything the same and included my monthly in class upsells that require MRR that I still do through kajabi. 90 days is a short time but I have learned a ton I have met a ton of wonderful people who really care I have made friends from all over the world I have picked up 8k MRR directly and indirectly from Skool! What a great time to be in Skool! Here's to the next 90 days Love you all! PS. Happy Birthday @Sam Ovens !! Enjoy your day!

Have your social media habits changed since joining Skool?
โ“Curious if you find yourself on IG, FB, TT, X, etc. less or more than you used to be or if it's about the same... I've only been here for about 3.5 months, but I'm finding I spend less and less time on other platforms as time goes on. I was already not very active on SM and had been looking/hoping for something else. I still check in occasionally on my family/friends, and I know I'll probably need to show up more as I grow my new business, but for now as I'm creating and building, Skool has what I need (to feel part of an authentic, engaged, & trustworthy group of likeminded/likehearted people with similar goals.)

I was active on LinkedIn but find myself much more on Skool. Mostly because I find the Skool material more relevant and curated than LinkedIn.
One Year With A Skool Community - My Honest Take ๐Ÿ‘‡
Today (17th of Nov 2024) marks exactly 365 days since I started my Skool on Nov 17th 2023... So I thought Iโ€™d tell you what impact itโ€™s had on my business, the gems Iโ€™ve picked up along the way, and my honest and unbiased review. A month before I started my Skool, I had closed down my marketing agency to go all in as a growth partner for coaches. I created my Skool simply to have proof-of-concept when it came to owning and running a community. I created a free Skool, and for the last 365 days, it has remained free, Iโ€™ve never made a paid skool (for myself) I simply just have a free skool โ†’ clients. Btw this was a little before the Hormozi partnership and true Skool rise, so things were a little more lowkey at the time. I did Skool outreach to get my first 100 members, we slowly climbed to 300 or so and then kicked into some organic growth. The 300 to 1000 member ride was quick and smooth. no ads, no funnels, no promo on other platforms. Just organic Skool growth. At one point we weโ€™re coming in hot to the top 100 Skool communities. My community allowed me to sign some big time clients which was cool. systems and operations soon became the clear high performer of our service so I doubled down on it, and tweaked my Skool towards it. Our organic growth has slowed down and over the last 6 months, simply just because of the sheer increase in active communities or "options". However we've maintained a slow and steady growth curve of 2-8 members every 24 hours. Currently we sit at 1,992 members (so close to 2k in one year lol). Gaining 2.4k Skool followers has given me a small kick of social proof on the platform too. Weโ€™ve dialed in some deadly Skool workflows and itโ€™s been a blast. Looking forward to seeing what year two brings. Another ripple effect is the $1,000 in total skool affiliates I just crossed, which is cool. I use skool a little different, itโ€™s my free community, where I post content, give free assets and collect emails & ph numbers for my campaigns. itโ€™s the ultimate incubator for my agency, hence the name ;)
