Frustrated with fragmented company research
Hello Community, I have been active here several months ago, then signed off to work on a project. I'm very interested in people's reactions and experiences when you are asked to profile a company for you, or your employer. You know there is a ton of information but to bring it all in a coherent manner is such an overwhelming chore, let alone within a deadline. Personally, I've faced this problem for the last 5 years every time I begin a new project for a previously unknown client. To understand the client's place in the market, competition, technology, their USP, etc. would take me between 5 to 9 days of solid research. However, I'd love to hear how you tackle this issue. What's your biggest anxiety-inducing gripe about this process.

@Joe Apfelbaum That's a very systematic approach that you use. I'll send you a summary I generated about your company Ajax Union. I'd love feedback from you since you know it best.

@Sylvain Huot haha...I didn't explain myself clearly enough. I was referring to a desktop research where I may not have contacts at all and only rely on what I can find on the web. And somehow I need to make sense of it. PS: I like your boat, looks like a lot of fun :)
The Complete Guide to Evaluating Joint Venture Marketing Partners
choosing the right joint venture (JV) partner can make or break your marketing success. Let's dive deep into each crucial element of partner evaluation. 1. Audience Size & Quality The raw numbers only tell part of the story. When evaluating a potential partner's audience: - Active Email List: Look beyond total subscriber count. Request metrics like open rates and click-through rates. A smaller, engaged list often outperforms a larger, inactive one. - Social Media Following: Examine engagement rates across platforms. Are comments genuine? Is there real interaction? - Audience Demographics: Request detailed audience data. The sweet spot is when their audience profile matches your ideal customer avatar. 2. Brand Alignment Brand alignment goes beyond surface-level matching. Consider: - Value Proposition: Their core values should complement yours. If you're all about premium quality, a partner focused on budget offerings might send mixed messages. - Quality Standards: Review their content, products, and customer experience. Their standards become associated with yours during partnerships. - Market Position: Ideal partners occupy adjacent, non-competing spaces. For example, a business coach might partner well with a website designer. 3. Track Record Past performance indicates future reliability: - Collaboration History: Ask for references from previous partners. How did they handle challenges? - Industry Reputation: Research their standing in the community. Are they known for delivering value? - Success Metrics: Request concrete data from previous joint ventures. What conversion rates did they achieve? 4. Communication & Reliability The operational backbone of any successful partnership: - Response Time: Test their communication during negotiations. If they're slow now, it won't improve later. - Process Clarity: They should have clear systems for project management and issue resolution. - Feedback Reception: Notice how they handle constructive criticism or suggested improvements.

@Joe Apfelbaum I hope you have been well. Thank you for the JV list. So common sense, all in one place. I'm developing a Business Partner Evaluation tool that just might tie in with your document. Let me know if you are interested. Cheers Rafal

You can't patent ideas...I treat AI input as an ideas generator. The person that seeds prompts is myself, a human, who has a vested direction in the kinds of responses I am interested. I also see myself as an idea initiator. It's a combo of my thoughts and AI thoughts (interpreted, modified, altered, shapeshifted by myself) that I curate and that I sign off as my own. In the past, I used seek inspiration from nature, art, library, dusty old books and talking to people in everyday life. Now, I am augmenting this approach by sourcing yet another avenue - the AI. any thoughts? @Kimberly Santos-Gooden @Jenny Lincoln @Joe Apfelbaum

I am interested in the concept of Value Proposition concept. What is it exactly that a business promises to a potential client, who that client is and how much are they likely to benefit from this offering. So I grab various news and re-angle them from the POV. I learn a lot and give ideas to others to rethink how they are presenting the Value Prop. The sectors I like currently are AI (ethics), AgTech, BioTech, B2B Marketing and Tech Innovation + Biomimetics.
