What to DO if your LinkedIn Account Gets Restricted
LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network, but it’s also known for being strict when it comes to account restrictions. Whether you’ve been temporarily blocked or fully restricted, it can be frustrating and confusing. This guide will help you understand why restrictions happen, how to resolve them, and steps you can take to protect your account in the future. Step 1: Back Up Your LinkedIn Account Data Before doing anything else, back up your LinkedIn account. This ensures you have access to your connections, contacts, and other important information, even if you lose account access. 1. Go to your LinkedIn settings: find it in the evyAI Learning HUB quick links! 2. Navigate to Data Privacy > Get a copy of your data. 3. Select Download larger data archive to include connections, recommendations, and other details. Alternatively, tools like Eviator can simplify this process by guiding you directly to the backup option. Step 2: Contact LinkedIn Help via Twitter (X) One of the fastest ways to resolve account restrictions is to contact LinkedIn’s support team on Twitter (X). 1. Go to https://x.com/linkedinhelp. 2. Tweet at @LinkedInHelp, explaining your situation briefly. Example: “Hi @LinkedInHelp, my account was restricted, and I need help resolving it. Can you assist?” 3. Follow their account so they can DM you. 4. Once they reply, they will likely provide a link to escalate your issue. This method often yields faster results than submitting a support ticket. Step 3: Submit a Support Ticket on LinkedIn If Twitter doesn’t resolve your issue, submit a support ticket directly through LinkedIn’s Help Center. 1. Visit https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/solve. 2. Click Contact Us at the bottom of the page. 3. Fill out the form with your account details and explain the restriction. 4. Attach any requested documentation, such as a government-issued ID, if needed.

LinkedIn Influencer Tip
When commenting positively about an influencer, for example, a book written by a famous author, I have had good luck tagging the author in the sentence where I mention them. The influencer will get notified and often will come back to your post and comment, which will, of course, be seen by their entire network. Make sure it is a sincere, non-spammy comment.
