Bone Problems
Hi friends, I am really struggling right now. A few days ago I bruised my ribs for the 3rd time in the past year. I'm concerned because all I was doing was trying to open a stiff door in a way that was putting some pressure on my rib area. That injury has prevented me from doing most of my calisthenics routine that I am trying to build up to increase my bone density. Then this morning I woke up with a throbbing foot just out of the blue. The symptoms seem to be consistent with a stress fracture and I cannot walk at all. To give some honest background info, I am 31 yrs old and have struggled with anorexia for the last 18 years and have been consistently underweight for that entire time. I had a bone scan done about 6 years ago which showed that I had pre-osteoporosis in most areas of my body. I typically walk around 2 hours a day at a very fast pace in addition to my calisthenics and manual labor/gardening a few hours each day, and when I am unable to do this I have a really hard time eating and intentionally decrease my calorie intake as I still fear gaining weight and being sedentary. I also hardly ever allow myself to sit and rest which I'm wondering if that has contributed to my foot injury. I realize that eating disorders are a tricky condition to understand if you don't have experience with it but I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me some words of wisdom. Thanks, Dareios

@Dareios Katsanikakis @Doug Graham concerns are valid and I highly encourage and urge you to seek professional support for the relationships you have with your body, eating, exercise and emotions. The long you leave recovery the worse it will get. Wishing you the inner strength and courage to heal your body and mind xx

@Doug Graham I am hoping to. Not sure which ones yet due to uncertainty with work schedule and annual leave dates I can book. Xx

“Issues”
Issue #1: Salt. I stopped sprinkling salt, of course quite a while back. However, I still crave it on salads, in my homemade dressings. Therefore, Ive had “seasons” in my raw food life when I’ve delved into Spanish olives or Bragg’s liquid aminos added to my salads. I keep wondering is there a “middle ground.” Probably the parasites wondering 🤣🤣🤣 Issue #2: “Fat” Portions. I’m really trying to nail down, through my own practice of 811, the perfect portions when I use Tahini or avocados. I know. I know. Ten percent. But getting to what that looks like is tough for me. I do need to get this down before helping others to learn the “how’s” of 811. I don’t know what I expect anyone to say, but thanks for listening, as I’m moving forward. Again, glad to be in the 811 community with YOU. Be well. ☺️

@Rhonda Youngblood If fancy something salty I eat samphire, it’s a sea vegetable that looks like a baby asparagus. The other thing I do is squeeze lemon juice over diced celery. It enhances the salty flavour and always curbs any cravings I may have. Also, be sure to eat plenty of leafy greens as this helps. Berry blessings xx
I'm off to Costa Rica
I'm biting off a huge project, and intending to be extremely productive with my time while in Costa Rica. My day is packed, fully scheduled, and I just have to stay present. Hopefully everything will come off without a hitch. It will definitely be a high intensity 6 weeks. I gotta tell you, I love the challenge. How are you challenging yourself this February?

There is always something so satisfying about achieving a challenging goal. Much like how much sweeter, full of flavour and enjoyable a fruity meal is when have worked up an appetite through activity and exercise. Have fun with being productive and working on exciting projects. Xx
