10 contributions to Speaker Mastery Community
This is going to go deep-
I haven’t posted this publicly yet. I haven’t even written down my thoughts in my journal yet. I sat yesterday, holding my brother‘s hand as he took his last breath. It hasn’t even been 24 hours yet. I called his son and his daughter so that my sister-in-law could tell them that their father had died, while she held his hand. Obviously, I’m still grieving, but I woke up this morning. Never before have I felt more profoundly the gift of another day. I want to share with you what’s on my mind. Outside of my immediate circle of my closest friends, you are my tightest community. 1. I’m cutting everything out of my life that’s not important. 2. I’m done wasting time being angry or offended 3. I commit to being a good enough leader, that it compensates for the learning curve of the people that look for me to help them 4. The abundance in my life is meant to overflow and fill the people around me 5. I woke up today. I thank God first and then leave room for inspiration to take me where I’m needed. 6. I’m slowing the f* down. We were given the power of choice. It is Satans greatest tool to make us think we don’t have it. Anytime we think “I have to…” do this or that, complete the sentence with “… In order to.” Because the truth is, you don’t really have to do anything. Everything is a choice. How good can you stand your life? I pray it’s not, but if today were your last day, would you be proud of what you did with it? I want to learn everything I can from this so that God doesn’t have to teach me a more difficult classroom. Every single one of you is loved. Please never forget that.

Should you PAY to speak?
There are 3 different ways to get paid to speak: (Thank you @Eric Howell for asking this question) 1. Get paid a speaker fee. This is what most people think of when they think of being a paid speaker. But when you’re starting, this will be rare 2. Speak for free. This is very common when you’re brand new, but how do you monetize? It’s done through having a giveaway. You’ll give your ebook away in exchange for emails, then add those people to your email list. You’ll nurture them through email, then eventually sell them your products. 3. Pay to speak. This is called a sponsored stage. It makes sense if: You know how many people are in the room You know how many of those people will get your free thing You know how many of those people will buy You know the average value of each purchase And if that final number exceeds the cost of the stage. AND/OR if you’re getting a valuable service in return, like footage, photography, etc. Post your other questions!!

Awesome! Makes total Sense!
Pay to speak?
I've been seeing a lot of these events with a speaker fee. Is this standard to pay to speak for an event?

Pay to speak?
I just bought ANOTHER course
I just charged my card for $197 to work with a mentor. I pay another mentor $50 a month I pay different mentor. $500 every six months. I also charged my card for $2000 a couple of months ago to work with yet another mentor. I paid $140 to another mentor just last week. It was someone in this group. Why??? Because I want to know what they know how to do. Also, because I want to teach you everything I learned without you having to pay all of that tuition. Will it cost you? Yes, it will. It will cost you your time, And if you want to cost less time, it costs money. Money is a renewable resource. Time is not. I’m excited to teach you everything I know. More importantly, I’m excited for you to copy me. Some of you were getting your first paying clients. Some of you are getting your 20th paid client since you started with me. Those that are consistent, will get the result. People that buy gym memberships and don’t go to the gym, then complain that they’re still fat or not my people. Invest in yourself. It’s the best ROI you will ever have.

I'd argue it would have cost you even more money not to pay a mentor, considering the cost of all the mistakes you would make without guidance..
