Belts Verses Skill Level
Dear Community Members, Just would like to express the fact that belt/sash colour does not reflect true skill level unless you keep up with your training! I can assure you all that skills (of any type) diminish over time, if you don’t keep up with your training to keep those skills for survival purposes! As a purple belt, I have been through plateaus and even dips in skills and I must be honest that it takes hard work and dedication to keep your skills. In class, I have found class members (especially the ones from a younger generation), to be intimidated by not me but by my belt colour. Ladies and gentleman, if you are a white belt who practices your skills daily (or often) and are motivated to reach new heights, you will surely be better than the purple belt who doesn’t train when they are not in a classroom setting. Another thing I would like to iterate is the fact that there are merits in training with practitioners who are better skilled than you , as well as those who are not as skilled as you. Training with lower skilled practitioners help you test your state/martial skill and training with higher skilled practitioners help you develop your state/martial skill. Every time that I get to train with @Sifu John Cogan , I jump at the opportunity because I can train and develop my state and martial skill. I have the same feeling when it comes to training with white and blue belts as doing so can allow me to experiment using my state against them. Please remember the following: TRAINING WITH BETTER SKILLED OR LOWER SKILLED PRACTITIONERS HELP YOUR OWN SKILLS AS WELL AS ‘THEIRS’. BOTH TYPES OF LEVELS PLAY HUGE ROLES IN YOUR SKILL DEVELOPMENT. Training everyday is a must and I know some members here may feel that they have no time or whatever excuse they may have. Training in martial arts is like having learnt a new foreign language, it takes time to develop to proficiency. Even at a level of proficiency, you need to keep refining your skills by using it daily.

Helpful post.
Honestly express yourself..
Hi, Karl here. I found that practicing Wing Chun helps me to accept myself more and enjoy the process more than the so called goals.

How many of you guys goes to gym and practice wing chun at the same time?
I am considering on starting to goin gym back soon and lose some body fat (since i haven't been going lately i have gained some major weight) The thing is that I have very little time to spare. How do you guys manage it or did you choose not to go at all.

Gym will interrupt with your internal work.

I can’t put it better than @Melissa Cogan . The tension blocks energy, except on lower back and abs. every style has a particular way of building up the muscles there in that area.
About Bruce
Okay first Bruce practiced wing chun And saw some photo like Bruce is meditating probably the state training So far I learnt that state is that sinking in the space in our own body energy like.. relaxed muscle in that we are just moving the energy rather our muscle strength... Today I re watched enter the dragon...in that every fight his muscles or his body doesn't look like relaxed or like other words to say his whole body were like solid as rock Like like pressuring every part of his body Is that also a part of state, sinking, alignment, centring?
